The Wildcats go on their third win in a row over what used to be O'fallon Christian (CHS) now named Veritas Christian for Homecoming. They dominated for four quarters and held back most of the dogs by half time. It was still a show of confidence needed to keep the winning streak going for the Wright City Wildcats. V. Christian is back to their first year of Varsity play so the growing pains were obvious but they kept competing. Let's take a closer look at the Wildcats reasons for success moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1124956' first='Duan' last='McRoberts'] is the bell cow for the offense and statistically in the top across the board in the area. McRoberts is a smaller fast twitch running back that is hard to contain in small spaces. Once he sees daylight, he's gone. With low center of gravity, elite agility, most defenders need help getting him down because he has strong legs that won't stop on contact. Friday night was special due to eclipsing 1000 yards and scoring four touchdowns in the first quarter. As of right now, McRoberts is third in the area for rushing (1038) and in total yards (1126). Not to forget 17 highlighted touchdowns that ranks him 4th.

[player_tooltip player_id='1652979' first='Dayton' last='Humphreys'] is QB1 for the Wildcats. He's an energetic leader that controls the tempo of the offense. Dayton hands a lot of the pressure off to #10, but when his number is dialed up to soften the box with some throws, he delivers. On ten attempts versus Eagles, he put up a 119.6 quarterback rating, accompanied by a touchdown throw. More opportunities will show itself as the season continues and I for now think Humpreys has the goods to place the ball where it needs to be in the air.

[player_tooltip player_id='1124927' first='Mason' last='Wendt'] is a stud 6'4 300 pound offensive lineman who plays to the echo of the whistle. Very impressive at that size watching him chase blocks downfield or double team and work his way up to the next level with urgency. He has some nice counterparts to assist him, but he is the guy to buckle up twice when lined up in his gap. Nice strike, foot placement, and decent motor. The offensive line kept lanes open for McRoberts and left Humphreys upright all night.

Gavin McCord and [player_tooltip player_id='1652988' first='Benji' last='Rodriguez'] are the main terrors on defense. McCord is leading the Wildcats in total tackles with 49 and an interception. He is followed up by Benji's 45 and three interceptions. The defense looked stout overall Friday night and put a lot of pressure on the Eagles QB. Both these young men tackle well in space and run around the field sideline to sideline.

For the Wildcats to continue success, they need to keep believing in the staffs weekly approach. Get the ball in McRoberts bread basket, control and protect the ball, then let the defense keep minimizing scores.
