Maynard had an impressive senior year at safety where he proved to be reliable in coverage. He is a true ball hawk in the secondary, showing the ability to read the play effectively then break on the ball with a sense of urgency once it is in the air. Maynard has shown impressive ball skills when the ball is thrown in his direction, coming away with a team-leading five interceptions in 12 games, returning two of them for touchdowns. He also recorded 50 tackles and four tackles for loss as a senior. Devan also returned a kickoff for a touchdown this past season and led the Martin County offense at quarterback, throwing for 1,692 yards and 14 touchdowns while also leading the team in rushing with 135 carries for 1,332 yards and 23 touchdowns. Maynard holds multiple offers and I expect him to be a true impact play at the next level with the versatility to play multiple positions.

Devan also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns as a junior. Maynard currently holds offers from Saint Mary of the Woods, Pikeville, Midway, Kentucky Christian, and Kentucky Wesleyan, and I expect that list to continue to grow during his senior season.

Devan finished the regular season with six interceptions in 10 games, returning two of them for touchdowns. He also finished the regular season with 69 tackles and five tackles for loss. Maynard also played a key role on offense at quarterback, throwing for 808 yards and 10 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,045 yards and 18 touchdowns. Devan doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on who could play multiple positions at the next level.

Once he reads the play, he breaks on the ball with perfect timing and has shown impressive ball skills, coming away with four interceptions in six games. He has also shown the ability to make plays against the run, accounting for 45 tackles and four tackles for loss so far. Maynard has also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and is an electric playmaker on offense, throwing for 790 yards and ten touchdowns while also running the ball 120 times for 926 yards and 15 touchdowns so far this season. Devan doesn’t currently hold any offers but he should be a player to keep an eye on over the next two years .
