About Dallas
Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Jacobsen is a very high motor and active linebacker with turnover abilities and is always flying around the ball. He has closing speed, is a excellent tackler in the hole and packs a punch at the POA against bigger backs/ball carriers. He flashes the ability to make plays outside the tackles and redirect quickly while always trying to punch the ball out and force a turnover. Pre-snap he is a very high IQ player that can sniff out plays and quickly knife into the backfield taking the proper angles through or around blockers and is a downhill violent hitter in the box. Look for plenty of D3+ schools come his way over the next 9 months as he is one of the top returning linebackers in Idaho.

The Bonneville standout is one of the top players at his position in the 2027 class and is poised to have a breakout season this fall. He is a highly instinctual and rangy outside linebacker that flows quickly to the ball, shows closing speed and good tackling abilities in space and has a quick trigger when coming up to set the edge. He shows backside pursuit and the ability to go through or bend underneath bigger blockers at the second level and plays fast consistently. As he continues to grow and develop over the next two years, he is a stock up guy that should see his recruiting start taking off at the D3+ level before his Senior season.

Jacobsen checks into our rankings as a top 25 player in the class and is one of the best linebackers across Idaho in the rising Junior class. He’s very athletic and fluid in space with cover abilities downfield and flashes closing speed and is a sure tackler in open space. Jacobson has a quick trigger and quick play recognition while able to knife around bigger blockers and get into the backfield with well timed pressures and has pass rush abilities off the edge. He’s a well-balanced defender that will continue to pack on weight to his frame and can play either inside or outside linebacker at the next level.

Jacobsen enters into our rankings for the first time, and rightfully so after coming off a stellar frosh campaign and having a strong start to his second season for Bonneville. He is a very active outside linebacker that does a good job at coming up and set the edge against bigger blockers, tackles in space and takes good angles to the ball carrier while providing a good thump at contact. He is a high motor kid with redirect abilities, shows some fluid hips in coverage with disciplined eyes and can also provide a pass rush with well timed pressures off the edge as well. He should be atop the tackle rankings in his class at the end of the season, and is one of the better ’27 defenders Idaho has to offer.
