As summer rolls around, many prospects reaped the rewards of a spring evaluation period. Many teams are now wrapping up spring ball, which means there is plenty of new film for coaches at all levels to watch. On top of that, the camp circuit around the country looks to be kicking off tomorrow as the NCAA has lifted the travel ban for prospective student athletes. We are leading into an exciting time for many prospects!
GOOD MONTH FOR WRs
The month of May was HUGE for many of the state’s top pass catchers.
Jordan Martin Jordan Martin 5'11" | 180 lbs | WR Lake Cormorant | 2022 State MS | 2022 WR | Lake Cormorant
Martin was a bit of a sleeper this spring. He added an early offer from Marshall, but recently picked up UT Martin this past month. With his size, speed, and ball skills, look for Martin to be one of the biggest risers in circles this upcoming June and July.
Jeremiah Dillon Jeremiah Dillon 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Parklane Academy | 2022 State MS | 2022 WR | Parklane Academy
Dillon is already known as one of the state’s fastest players. He saw a lot of early action in his recruitment last season, but added an offer from Houston in May. Dillon has preformed well in camps this spring and will look to build on his momentum soon.
Tyrell Pollard Tyrell Pollard 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Oak Grove | 2022 State MS | 2022 WR | Oak Grove
Pollard was once a sleeper, but has had a great spring period for his name. Pollard added an offer from Louisiana Lafayette. Feel pretty confident about this guy preparing this summer to have yet another 1000 yard season on his resume.
COMMITMENTS
The lone commitment this month belongs to Trent Singleton Trent Singleton 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Raymond | 2022 State MS of Raymond High. Singleton is a guy that does everything for his team. Last season, he played quarterback and defensive back, but his future looks to be on the defensive side of the ball. Singleton committed to the Mississippi State Bulldogs this month, and joins fellow instate defensive backs Wesley Miller Wesley Miller 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Heritage Academy | 2022 State MS and Jaterrious Elam Jaterrious Elam 6'2" | 170 lbs | DB Greenville Christian | 2022 State MS . The Raymond product has a long build with the athleticism to play safety at the next level. Selecting Mississippi State over offers from Indiana, Arkansas State, Memphis, and Southern Mississippi, Singleton will get an opportunity to play college football at the highest level possible.
BIG OFFERS
Jordan Anthony Jordan Anthony 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB Tylertown | 2022 State MS | 2022 DB | Tylertown
Anthony has been no stranger to adding offers this offseason. This month, he broke the state record for the 100m with a 10.30, and won the adidas Boost in Boston as well. To cap things off, he added football offers from Tennessee and Ole Miss, while adding a track offer from Mississippi State. Look for this guy to keep rising up boards.
Zxavian Harris Zxavian Harris 6'6" | 310 lbs | DL Germantown | 2022 State MS | 2022 DL | Germantown
One of the best players in Mississippi released his top 6 this month. It included Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and now LSU. LSU was the latest school to get in on Harris, and will join other SEC powers in fighting for his commitment before December.

Up until a few weeks ago, Zay Alexander Zay Alexander 6'6" | 315 lbs | OL Tupelo | 2023 State MS was a name that not many had heard of. Lucky for us, we recognized his talents early and had him in our initial rankings. Alexander added offers from Indiana, Ole Miss, Florida, and Oregon. The massive tackle prospect is just getting things started and is expected to be at many camps this summer across the nation.
Tanner Welch Tanner Welch 6'8" | 320 lbs | OL Northwest Rankin | 2023 State MS | 2023 OL | Hartfield Academy
Another massive tackle in Mississippi added his first offer as well. Hartfield’s Tanner Welch Tanner Welch 6'8" | 320 lbs | OL Northwest Rankin | 2023 State MS picked up Louisville to get things started. The rising star hasn’t been heard from a bunch yet, but that will change this summer. Welch is on track for another big year as a junior and many teams around the nation will recognize his talents soon.
Suntarine Perkins Suntarine Perkins 6'1" | 190 lbs | ATH Raleigh | 2023 State MS | 2023 ATH | Raleigh
Perkins is on his way to being a national recruit. He is already one of the best players in Mississippi, but he will soon be one of the best players in the entire nation. In May, he added offers from Miami, Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn, and Georiga. Look for this guy to have another huge year and continue building his stock.
LOCAL JUCOS CONTINUING TO RECRUIT MS
It is hard to highlight just how many players the local MS JUCOs have offered this past month. These schools will ultimately build the majority of their roster with Mississippi players, so it’s been really exciting to watch many of the top rising senior prospects benefit early!
