Expert Analysis
Chris Smith | Prep Redzone Scout
Tummins is one of the best in the state at taking the ball away as the Bulldogs senior safety has produced a lot of interceptions during his high school career and is now looking for a college home to continue his ball hawk mentality. Standing 6 ‘2 with long arms, Tummins is a big guy on the back end that shows good range on film along with tremendous football instincts that consistently places him around the ball. He just has a unique feel for finding the ball in the air and coming down with it. Tummins does need to continue enhancing his overall athleticism and speed but the size and tools are there to develop into an excellent free safety prospect in college that could become even better with growth and maturity.

Tummins is a good route runner who has nuances during his routes. A pure receiver, excells at the catch point. Has really good awareness and ball tracking. Has the body control and ball skills to adjust at the catch point. Is able to extend and catch the ball away from his body and his catch radius is large enough. Is able to generate yards after the catch.

Tummins is a good deep threat with the speed to run past defenders and a knack for tracking the ball over his shoulder. He’s confident in his hands and is tough at the catch point. He’ll let a few passes go off his fingers, but he can elevate and bring down tough throws. He’s a creator after the catch, regularly making the first man miss or spinning and churning his feet to break tackle attempts and stay on his feet.
