If there is a camp, Dinsmoor will be there. While Dinsmoor is “undersized” according to some coaches, he plays very well at center and snaps the ball reliably, a trait that may prove to be more important than his height. Dinsmoor has great footwork and has more speed than some may think. While he still has no offers, Dinsmoor was talked to by a few FBS schools and is sure to land somewhere. Dinsmoor also plays lacrosse, showing his athleticism. Dinsmoor was the 13th ranked OL in our initial 2022 rankings and 96th overall in the 2022 class
Nansemond River (Suffolk) OL Ashtin Ancheta
Ancheta impressed a lot during 1-on-1s Monday and has siz sitting at 6’2″ and 300lbs. Ancheta transferred to Nansemond River after being named to the All-Metro team offensive line at Portsmouth Christian and is a former 1st team All-State offensive lineman. Ancheta is physical and has good footwork. Ancheta also shows out in the weight room with a 525lb deadlift and a 430+ pound squat. Ancheta is looking for his first offers and will be at the Line Only camp this weekend, which we will be covering. Ancheta did not make our initial 2022 rankings.
Maury (Norfolk) DL Jayden Hargett
Maury always produces good linemen and Hargett may be the next in line for the Commodores. 6’3″ and 215lbs, Hargett can get to the QB and has the size to be a problem even if he can’t get to the QB before he throws the ball. Hargett hasn’t gotten any traction in recruiting yet but if guys like Darian Varner, also from Maury are any indication, Hargett has been getting the coaching to succeed at the next level if he gets the chance.
Landstown (Va Beach) OL/DL Tyquan Johnson
I haven’t seen a lot of Johnson but what I saw Monday was enough to convince me that he would be a solid G5/FCS lineman. At 6’3″ and 250lbs it’s undecided if Johnson will be an OL or DL in the future as he has played right tackle, defensive end, and interior defensive line at Landstown. His best shot could be at defensive end if he has the speed to get into the backfield as I think he is too slim to be a starting right tackle at the next level. Johnson is a sure tackler and that will go a long way, as will his willingness to play on special teams
Tallwood (Va Beach) DL Tynique Breathwaite
Breathwaite has great size for an interior defensive lineman at 6’6″ and 240lbs although he currently plays at defensive end at Tallwood. Breathwaite works hard in the weight room but does not have any offers yet. From the tape, he looks like he could be a solid FCS/D2 defensive end but could also move inside and bulk up and increase his chances at the next level. Tynique was not in our 2022 rankings.
