Garrett McCray, East Nicolaus HS
A true throwback downhill thumper and one of the Northern Sections top defenders, he could see himself playing multiple positions on defense at the next level. He has a quick play diagnosis and fills in a hurry while taking good vertical angles to ball carriers and bringing a nice thump at the point of attack while playing with a relentless motor. A very strong tackler, he has deceptive movement abilities and closing speed for his size and can rush the passer due to length, motor and power upon contact.
Elijah Klock, Campolindo HS
Klock projects as a guard or possible center at the next level and will be the leader on both sides of the ball for one of the regions top teams. He is more of a downhill phone-booth blocker but shows the footwork to be able to get out in space and block second level defenders while also able to pull and reach. He shows good first step explosion and a strong punch while keeping defenders away from his chest and finishing with nice leg drive and physicality. He is a patient pass blocker that can pick up pressures and is a smart player in both the run and pass game.
Hayden Jones, Saint mary’s-Stockton HS
Jones is a very athletic two-way lineman for one of the most dominant teams in the entire state. Very versatile and possessing terrific natural strength and power, he can block downhill and is effective reaching and climbing when running outside zone and getting to the second level in a hurry. He sustains blocks well while bringing his feet and keeping a good base and finishing with good aggression and physicality.
Luke Rossi Luke Rossi 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Palma | 2022 State CA , Palma HS
One of the top quarterbacks in the Central Coast Section, Rossi is an accurate and athletic player with FCS caliber abilities. He does a good job at moving through his progressions and delivering the ball downfield with good spin and placement while accurate in the short game and when throwing outbreaking routes. Also able to throw on the run, he snaps his shoulders while delivering accurate passes while outside the pocket and should start to see his recruiting stock rise in the coming months.
Tyler Harrison, Paradise HS
Harrison is not only one of the most bruising runners in the Northern Section, but in all of Northern California. Having a rare combination of speed and size, he is a balanced runner that displays nice contact balance and is a physical ball carrier in the box and open field. Having natural forward lean, he is a long strider that gets vertical in a hurry and delivers contact every time he touches the ball. More of a smooth runner, he also has nice initial acceleration and long speed while able to make defenders miss with lateral agility when needed. He has FCS+ level abilities at the next level and will be a steal for any school.
Michael Ingrassia, Marin Catholic HS
Ingrassia has a talented arm and shows a quick release with the ability to air it out with nice touch and velocity downfield while throwing his receivers open and placing the ball where only they can get it. Standing tall in the pocket, he can accurately throw into tight windows between second level defenders and shows he can move the pocket and throw on the run while always keeping his eyes downfield while scrambling. He is an accurate and efficient passer that has been a multi-year starter on one of the top teams in the region and should start to reel in some college offers and roster spot opportunities in the coming months.
Ashton Wagner, Paradise HS
Like McCray, Wagner is the other top defender in the Northern Section and projects as either a 3-tech or defensive end at the next level depending on the scheme. He is a twitchy interior player that has nice first step explosion and powerful hips/hands at the point of attack while flashing a low pad level and winning with physicality and violence. A very athletic prospect, he also plays running back and has a tremendous motor.
Wade Smith, Bellarmine HS
Smith is a well put together signal caller that has established himself as an efficient within the WCAL. He has a strong pocket presence and quickly senses pressure while showing good escapability and open field speed while being a true threat on the ground. He is a very smart player that takes what is given and is accurate in the short/intermediate game while doing a nice job at reading defenders and moving them with his eyes. He can put nice touch on the ball when needed and should find a home at the next level as he continues to progress.
