Louisiana's 2024 high school football season is now in its final countdown to its official kickoff Sept. 5, 6 and 7.

And the always talent-loaded state will once again feature a long list of future college talent in every region and corner.

As much time as we spend looking at top prospects specifically by class, we thought we'd take a look at the best by area — mixing together seniors, juniors and sophomores — to help preview on which student-athletes fans might want to keep an eye in their area or when their team hits the road or hosts a less-familiar foe from elsewhere in the state.

We continue the 10-region tour with the Bayou Parishes, an area enjoying a nice run of college talent.

Each list will focus specifically on the 2025, 2026 and 2027 cycles and hold off on further evaluation and consideration of the 2028 group until more of those players have some high school competition and film to their resume.

Also note, while the list has to be cut off somewhere — for the Bayou Parishes, we broke at 10 — between 100 and 200 Louisiana prospects sign with Division-I colleges every year, so these lists just represent the leading tips of The Boot's notable talent iceberg.

[player_tooltip player_id='149233' first='Lawrence' last='Bangura'] — 6-0, 165 DB — Thibodaux (2025)

The Tigers' long corner with good speed — including his competition on the track during the offseason — and ball skills and a willingness to play physically helps kick off the list of some top college prospects in the region. Bangura was an intriguing young prospect that caught our attention early on and has continued to develop his body, game and confidence throughout his high school career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1345278' first='Tadan' last='Bingham'] — 6-4, 280 OL — Terrebonne (2026)

The younger brother of Nicholls State freshman defensive lineman Talan Bingham is the first of four Terrebonne standouts on the list, the most of any school. As noted when he debuted in the rankings this summer, Tadan seems to possess not only the Division-I size and powerful game, but hard-nosed mentality that Talan carried to help develop into a college prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1078299' first='Tommy' last='Bower II'] — 6-4, 275 OL — E.D. White (2025)

The top senior lineman for a Cardinals program that excels in the trenches to pave the way for its traditionally run-heavy offense, Bower has a strong first step and this offseason set a school record with his 315-pound power-clean mark. Nicholls State and Southeastern Louisiana have been some of the first colleges pursuing the big left tackle.

[player_tooltip player_id='710975' first='Jaden' last='Carter'] — 5-9, 175 WR — Covenant Christian (2026)

The promising young multisport athlete may be one of the more notable breakout candidates to watch around the state this fall as he takes the field for the Lions. From his freshman football and basketball seasons at A.J. Ellender to his work during the past year on the 7-on-7 circuit and camp and workout sessions, everything we've seen thus far has been impressive with his explosiveness, speed and ball skills.

[player_tooltip player_id='710978' first='Alvin' last='Celestin'] — 5-9, 155 ATH — Terrebonne (2026)

One of the next notable Division-I prospects on deck for the Tigers, Celestin is an explosive athlete with track speed and good hands who has already had opportunities the past two varsity seasons to showcase his versatility at a high level. Most likely a running back at the next level, he has also proven himself a capable pass-catcher out of the backfield or the slot, a reliable defensive back and a weapon in the return game.

[player_tooltip player_id='145332' first='Jaylon' last='Coleman'] — 5-9, 160 RB/ATH — Vandebilt Catholic (2025)

The Liberty commitment is one of Louisiana's speediest, most dynamic athletes and a versatile member of the state's loaded running back class with his notable potential to also work out of the slot, as well as to be a lethal weapon in the return game. Coleman is a smaller back, but has played well through contact throughout his high school career and has been a reliable, consistent ball-carrier for his Class 4A Terriers.

[player_tooltip player_id='145334' first='Quincey' last='McKay Jr.'] — 6-2, 195 WR — Terrebonne (2025)

One of the senior leaders for the Tigers, the recent Tuskegee commitment takes the reins from Kylan Billiot as the No. 1 receiver after being a productive complement to the now-LSU freshman the past couple years. McKay is a tall target with a wide catch radius and reliable hands who has shown himself an effective route-runner both outside and in the slot.

[player_tooltip player_id='920609' first='O'Ryan' last='Mosley'] — 6-3, 295 OL — Terrebonne (2026)

Wrapping up the Terrebonne contingent that headlines this list from a team perspective, Mosley is one of the top offensive linemen in Louisiana's stout 2025 class in the trenches. The Tigers' right tackle is a big, powerful blocker who has shown enough quickness to keep in front of speedy edge-rusher and has a strong offer list already to show for his notable next-level potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='940554' first='Trenajh' last='Smith'] — 6-1, 170 DB/ATH — South Terrebonne (2027)

The versatile young defensive back and wide receiver is the highest-ranked South Terrebonne prospect since Prep Redzone Louisiana's launch during the 2021 cycle. Smith looks the part early on of one of the state's top young cornerback prospects with his length, speed, athleticism, ball skills and competitive mentality.

Last but not least, the Braves' big two-way star during his high school career has been a Prep Redzone Louisiana favorite in the 2025 class for the past couple years as one of the top defensive line prospects in a solid group overall for the cycle and a nice recruiting win this summer for SMU.
