2024 North Iowa Cedar League: QB Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I am venturing for my first preseason standouts list from Iowa, and our first stop is in the North Iowa Cedar League. Consisting of 15 teams from Northern Iowa, I've been really impressed with the talents from this group. These QBs elevate their teams with the leadership they bring for the offense, and the skill and athleticism that they bring to the table should certainly be intriguing for college teams recruiting. Pattison looked to be a great Pro-Style QB, selling the play-action well and hitting several nice passes on the run. Olwein showcased solid athleticism, a great arm, and excellent footwork and balance in the pocket, while also being an agile scrambler, capable of making double-moves and spins around defenders. He finished last season with over 600 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground. Decker shows great speed and agility on the ground, and this speed has also made him versatile as a punt returner, taking back 3 punts to the crib last season. As a passer, Decker throws well out of the pocket, keeping his eyes down the field, and has a solid arm. Treptow honed his skillset to fit more of a dual-threat role last season, and the offense became a lot more dangerous as a result. Treptow finished with over 1300 combined yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns en route to earning first-team all-district honors for the 2nd consecutive year as well as first-team all-conference honors. Treptow continued to showcase his arm strength as a passer while flashing quick speed on the ground, whether taking a draw up the middle or scrambling outside the pocket. Farrington's athleticism shouldn't be ignored, as he posted a 4.72 40 yard dash time, a 275 lb max squat, and a 335 lb max deadlift. On the field, Farrington does a nice job at reading progressions and fitting passes through some difficult windows. Farrington improved from last season in his down-field accuracy and showed better arc in his throws getting passes over defenders. Robinson's size and frame at this age looks excellent for his age. He's already grown to be one of the best basketball players on his team, coming off an all-conference selection last season, and his combination of length, power, and speed on the court could translate very well onto the field. It will take time for Robinson to settle into the starting QB position, but there is a very good chance that Robinson will become a breakout star in 2024. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
