2026 Rankings Update- Our Top 5 Prospects!

We just updated our 2026 Rankings and are taking a look at our new top 5 prospects! Be sure to watch out for these guys this fall, they're set up for some huge junior seasons!    [player_tooltip player_id='676572' first='Anthony' last='Jones'] is the #1 prospect in our 2026 Rankings and rightfully so, he's been phenomenal for Saint Paul's Episcopal's defense over the last two years. Jones is a fantastic linebacker prospect that plays with a ton of athleticism, aggression, and physicality. Jones can do everything that his coaches ask of him- he's a terrific pass rusher, can set the edge, attack the run, and is always around the ball impacting plays. It's seriously impressive watching Jones' effort on the field, he doesn't give up on plays, has great pursuit, and consistently finds ways to disrupt offenses throughout all four quarters. Jones had himself a huge sophomore season last fall- he ended the year with 102 total tackles (10 for loss), 10 sacks, and 5 pass breakups on the season. With how well he's played the last two years Jones has been highly recruited- he has picked up offers from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, and more! Keep an eye on Jones this fall, he's a heck of a talent and the number-one player in our 2026 class for a reason!     [player_tooltip player_id='350449' first='Landon' last='Duckworth'] is a talented dual-threat quarterback out of Jackson that has transformed his offense into one of the top units in the state since becoming a starter two years ago. Duckworth has a super strong arm, delivers the ball with excellent touch, and can deliver accurate passes all across the field. In addition to his arm talent, Duckworth has an elite ability to read defenses and does a great job utilizing his mobility to his advantage. Whenever Duckworth gets pressured or sees an open lane, he has the speed and elusiveness to extend and make the most out of broken plays. All of these traits were on full display throughout his sophomore season last fall- he ended the year with 118/196 attempts for 1971 yards and 27 touchdowns through the air as well as 62 carries for 371 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground. With how well he's played since his freshman season, Duckworth has picked up a lot of attention from schools at the next level, listing offers from Oregon, UCF, South Carolina, and more. Be sure to watch Duckworth this fall, he and this year's Jackson team are set up for a big season!     [player_tooltip player_id='401085' first='Cederian' last='Morgan']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/cederian-morgan/"></a> is a terrific wide receiver out of Benjamin Russell who has quickly risen into our Top 5 after how well he played last fall. Morgan has caused plenty of trouble for opposing secondaries over the past few seasons and shows no signs of slowing down. At 6'4 220 Morgan is a big target that plays with a ton of speed and acceleration while having the route-running capabilities to be an impact playmaker at every level of the field. Paired with his athleticism, Morgan has a set of reliable strong hands that allow him to highpoint the ball and haul in some tough contested passes. Last year, Morgan had a breakout sophomore season where he was one of the top targets in his team's passing attack and recorded 36 receptions for 635 yards and 7 touchdowns on the year. It's super impressive watching Morgan out wide, he can do a ton of things at his size that shouldn't be possible and is a constant threat downfield for opposing defenses. With how well he's been playing, Morgan has picked up a ton of attention from top-tier programs like Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn, and many more! Keep an eye on him going into this season, Morgan is seriously talented and is set up for a huge junior year!     [player_tooltip player_id='401102' first='Hezekiah' last='Harris']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/hezekiah-harris-2/"></a> is a fantastic defensive lineman out of Mae Jemison that has been one of the top 5 prospects in our 2026 Rankings for a while now. Harris possesses a rare combination of size, athleticism, and exceptional pass-rushing skills that have made him an outstanding player on Mae Jemison's defensive front. Harris is a constant threat to opposing quarterbacks with how well he rushes the passer. Every snap Harris rushes the passer he can consistently overwhelm and beat offensive linemen to generate pressure and take down the quarterback. Harris is also terrific against the run- he uses his size to eat up space, can easily shed blocks, and frequently takes down the ball carrier at or behind the line of scrimmage. With how well he's played the last few years, Harris has become a highly recruited prospect and recently committed to Auburn earlier this summer. Be sure to watch out for Harris this fall, he and this Mae Jemison defense have the potential to be one of the top units in the state.     [player_tooltip player_id='401138' first='Shadarius' last='Toodle']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/shadarius-toodle/"></a> has played extremely well for College Hill Christian's defense over the last few seasons and is making his debut in our 2026 Rankings as the #5 player in the state. At 6'3 210, Toodle is a destructive middle linebacker that plays with a ton of athleticism and instincts. He has some terrific speed and acceleration at his size that allows him to easily maneuver around the field and make plays regardless of where he initially lines up pre-snap. It doesn't matter what the opposing offense runs, Toodle consistently finds himself in the right position to make plays on the ball every time he's on the field. Last fall, Toodle had himself a fantastic sophomore season where he recorded 103 total tackles, 10 sacks, and 4 fumble recoveries on the year. With how well Toodle has played over the last few seasons, tons of top-tier programs have sent offers his way, but Toodle ultimately decided to commit to Auburn, giving them a very talented instate addition for their 2026 class. Be sure to watch Toodle this year and going forward, he's an exciting prospect that's heading into a big junior season this fall!
