Wright is a big, underrated back out of Alabama who is still flying under the radar. His size is an instant eye-catcher, as he is an obvious candidate to get tough yards and move the pile. He is pretty well-rounded, however. He is a patient runner who flashed as a pass catcher, too. The size will grad your attention, but it’s the well-rounded skillset that really sets the intrigue here.

A textbook one-cut back with the size and strength to carry a heavy workload. Wright shows plus vision and an advanced feel for cutback lanes, staying square and balanced as he presses the line of scrimmage. He consistently finishes runs on his terms, running behind his pads and creating yards through contact. Production backs it up—1,000+ yards on just 130 carries with 19 touchdowns, a clear indicator of efficiency and big-play ability.

Wright is a big body at 6’0 210 and hides that weight on his frame. He is tough to get his hands around and tackle, but his flashes of finesse round out his game. His patience and awareness help him avoid contact. He looks to have a good understanding of when to get skinny and work between the tackles vs when to bounce the play outside. He contributed as a pass catcher out of the backfield as well. He isn’t a burner, but his long strides consistently help him outrun defenders down the field. His recruitment is still taking shape, and I fully expect him to generate some D1 attention down the line.

Wright is a downhill runner who thrives on physicality and aggressive play. He has excellent pad level, making it difficult for defenders to get a clean shot on him. His combination of power and vision allows him to excel in short-yardage and goal-line situations. While known for his toughness, he also has the ability to make sharp cuts and accelerate in the open field. With further refinement in his pass-catching ability, he could develop into a complete offensive threat.

Wright is an electric back who is a consistent threat to make huge plays on the ground every time he takes the field. Wright plays with some unbelievable speed and quickness he uses to outrun and outmaneuver entire defenses. He can easily make defenders miss and is a seriously hard player for defenses to tackle. Wright is a very versatile and impressive running back to watch- he can run in between and outside the tackles really well and consistently can create massive plays on the ground for his offense. Last fall Wright had a seriously impressive freshman season and he’s only going to get better each year for Brantley. Wright has a ton of skills and talent as a ball carrier in Brantley’s offense, be sure to watch him this season as he is bound to have a big year!
