North Dakota 2022 DB’s to Watch

Today we travel to the neighbors to the North, North Dakota to take a look at the top five DB’s in the State. North Dakota seems to have a lot of undiscovered potential that would make college teams happy. Lots of skills and talent in the state, some that seemed to only be discovered by in-state schools. #5- <strong>Frosty Wisnewski</strong>- Central Cass Wisnewski played a lot bigger than his size said on the program. He really sticks his nose into each and every play in his area. He really sells out and comes flying in to make a big hit, but knows when to wrap up and make a safe tackle instead. He also positions himself well when in pass coverage. If he has two guys in his zone, he can cover them both with ease, extremely aware of the offensive and defensive players in his area. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2EXts0">Junior Film</a> #4-<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="56518" first="Sam" last="Strandell"]</strong>- Grand Forks Central Strandell mostly played WR in his film, he has the size to play both DB and WR. In his defensive clips, he makes sure to hold the outside perimeter, turning the outside runs back in. He is also physical when tackling, really takes a good approach and accelerates to lay a big hit. Seeing his offensive clips, he has a good deal of power, fighting off tacklers and gaining more yards after the catch. He also has good awareness, knowing his speed when running his routes to adjust to the ball position from the QB. <a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/12831454/5fe9456a2352671484585750">Junior Film</a> #3- <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="56541" first="Isaac" last="Emineth"]</strong>- Fargo Shanley Emineth played well at both Free and Strong Safety this year. He does a great job reading offensive flow, whether that be receivers running routes or the offensive line flow to the play side on the run. He makes great breaks to either fill on run-support, or jumping routes. He also plays well in the box and playing run-first, plays physical when taking on blocks and finishes his tackle. He accelerates well when making his breaks and wraps up well, does not let go until the whistle blows. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2EX22y">Junior Film</a> #2- <strong>Jacob Renz</strong>- Bismarck Century Renz was good in man-coverage at cornerback this past season. He does a great job locking on his man and keeping with him step-for-step. He also knows his zone well in his in zone coverages, stays with his receiver until he has to check him off. He plays with very good technique, does not grab at the receiver when jamming him, but always stays in his bubble and times the pass well to not get flagged. His footwork is impressive as well as his awareness on when to turn and run with his receiver. <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2EeG8a">Junior Film</a> #1- <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="56509" first="Kellen" last="Entz"]</strong>- West Fargo- Sheyenne Entz did a good job being the last line of defense for his team. He sat back and read the QB well to get himself in good position to make a play on the pass. He kept himself deeper than anyone else on both teams and kept the receivers in his sights. When the ball would leave the QB’s hand, he made a great break to make the play.
