#ForTheBrand Kicker Profile: Louis Hyde/Benilde-St. Margaret’s (2020)
Today, Nate from Northstar Football News caught up with an NFN prospect for his #ForTheBrand Kicker profile. This week Nate caught up with Benilde-St. Margaret's Kicker <strong>Louis Hyde</strong><b> </b>about his season thus far for the Red Knights, what's to come, and see where he's at with his recruiting interest at this time.

<strong>Position: </strong>Kicker
<strong>High School Program: </strong>Benilde-St. Margaret's (St. Louis Park)
<strong>Class: </strong>2020, Senior
<strong>Get to Know Louis Hyde and His Strengths</strong>
Hyde has been the kicker for the Red Knights for the last two seasons in which he stated: "I've grown a lot as a player over that time". Thru 6 games, Hyde is a perfect 29/29 on PATs and 3/4 on field goals and most recently had a kick of 52 yards in practice made with ease (with more distance to cover longer). The strength to Hyde's kicking game, "my accuracy" he told NFN as he's been near perfect on the season for the undefeated Red Knights.
<strong>Favorite Parts About Being the Kicker</strong>
Hyde said playing a "very different position than my teammates is my favorite part" The uniqueness of the position of the kicker also is a key trait for Hyde. Hyde comes from a soccer background and has been all about football since he transitioned from soccer.
<strong>College Interest</strong>
At this time, Hyde does not have any offers on the table. Due to a broken ankle last year that needed surgery, that took away his opportunity at college camps the last off-season. "I am hoping my success this season will create recruitment interest," Hyde told NFN when asked if this season could change colleges coach's minds on him playing at the next level.
<strong>Improvements Made from Last Season by Hyde</strong>
The biggest thing the Red Knights coaches told Hyde to work on the last season was his kickoffs and to get those kickoffs hitting into the end zone. He also wanted him to develop as a Punter as well. Hyde said, "I worked on these things a good portion of the off-season" when asked about how much time he spent on these items handed over by his Red Knights coaching staff.
<strong>Louis's Mentor</strong>
Louis credited <strong>Chris Husby</strong> from the Special Teams Academy as his mentor. Husby has helped Louis in all areas of kicking since he started kicking for the Red Knights his sophomore year. Husby was a big help in Hyde's ankle rehab process over the summer and helped him get back into the groove of kicking after his ankle surgery.
<strong>What Makes Louis Hyde a Minnesota #ForTheBrand Kicker?</strong>
Louis Hyde is all about the brand of high school kicking here in Minnesota and the Twin Cities. "I love competition, I love kicking and I love helping my team however I can" is why Louis Hyde is all about the kicking brand in Minnesota.
Hyde's Red Knights (6-0) will take on the highly struggling Park Center Pirates who have put up 21 points total in 6 games this year.
