Malaniak impressed me with his attentiveness throughout the day. Whether in speed drills, or 1 on 1s, he was laser focused. When I was watching him do the 40-yard dash, I was very impressed with his initial burst of acceleration. This comes in handy especially against stout offensive lineman. Malaniak has a big body, and very good strength. He had the longest wing span between all the defensive lineman. During the drills, he was initiating contact first. He used his low pad level to out leverage the offensive lineman. Very good hand placement and hand strength. Showed his ability to lock out the OL and win the battle. Great job from a rising prospect.

Malaniak showcased his coachability by immediately implementing feedback to refine his technique. He kept his pad level low and used explosive hip movement to drive opponents off the line, excelling despite the padless format. While more active feet could enhance his performance, Malaniak stood out with his strength at the point of contact. His maturity as a senior was evident in his focus and determination during drills. With his competitive edge and high ceiling, Malaniak is poised to attract attention this offseason as he continues to develop and refine his game.

Malaniak has good size and strength to be able to get off of blocks and create chaos up front. He knows when to engage or when to avoid blocks to be able to get into the backfield. When he gets hands on the ball carrier, he is not allowing them to get away and holds them up for his teammates to try and get the ball loose. He will be a player that figures to be on the academic all-conference list and will be looking to make a big impact on the field as well.
