Since hiring Dell McGee, Georgia State has finally started to recruit their backyard and take advantage of the interstates, snagging players from Alabama and the lower parts of Georgia. At this current rate, there will be no shortage of talent for Dell McGee and his staff. After a busy last week or so, here is exactly what Georgia State is getting in their recent commitments.

Since popping onto our radar this offseason, [player_tooltip player_id='1198739' first='TJ' last='Stanley'] has become a favorite amongst our PRZ Redzone scouts. On June 26th, he committed to Georgia State. Since he is well-covered, here is my most recent evaluation:

"This offseason, [player_tooltip player_id='1198739' first='TJ' last='Stanley'] has gone from a hidden gem in Georgia to one of the trendiest QB prospects in the state. He has 9 D1 offers to his name, including some FBS opportunities. Stanley checks plenty of physical boxes. He comes in at 6'3 210 and can absorb contact well thanks to his strong build. He possesses the arm strength needed to make throws all over the field, and is also a baseball athlete. He plays in a spread scheme and has several different throws littered on his film. If surrounded by the right supporting cast, Stanley can make his mark at the FBS level."

Elijah Hunter has been a low-key prospect on the recruiting trail, but he is a gifted athlete who could end up being one of the more notable steals out of GA in the 2025 class. He is muscled-up, ready to go at 6'1 195, and flashes the speed profile needed to carry away from defenders and beat angles with the ball in his hand. He showcases some explosiveness as well, jump-cutting across the face of defenders and creating his own yards with fiery feet. Played plenty of QB at South Atlanta, but will likely settle at a skill spot at Douglass. On defense, he is stout and can strike. His film indicates he could project on the offensive side of the ball, but his length, speed, and aggressive nature project best to DB. Regardless, he is a good athlete and a well-rounded football player, all ingredients for a productive player on Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1556748' first='Chandler' last='Covington'] has high upside and is battle-tested against some of the best competition in the country. He spends most time with his hand in the dirt but will project more as an EDGE at the collegiate level. He is a fiery pursuer of the football, frequently flagging it down from across the formation. He is explosive off the snap and will overwhelm blockers with his twitchiness and speed. He can get tied up when hands get on his chest but added play strength and an eventual move to EDGE will deviate some of that. He is bendy and will frequently bring his arm over and under to shed blocks, all attributes that will project well as a pass rusher. Covington can contribute at the FBS level with some seasoning.

Georgia State is starting to sneak into Alabama as well, building a pipeline and laying down a foundation. Here is my most recent eval of [player_tooltip player_id='250236' first='Jamari' last='Miller']:

"[player_tooltip player_id='250236' first='Jamari' last='Miller'] is a technician with his feet and an absolute burner. He instantly flashes as a returner, where his violent cuts and effortless change of direction allow him to take advantage of even the smallest of running lanes. He is rarely caught from behind, possessing the speed needed to break the tape and outrun angles. As a receiver, he can overwhelm DBs with his explosive footwork, often leaving DBs on the ground or reeling in a hurry. He is agile and fleet enough to handle any advanced route concept once he gets to the next level. He is a slight 5'10 155, but absorbs contact and tracks the ball through traffic well for a smaller guy. Miller doesn't get a whole lot of love nationally, but he can make an early impact on special teams and shine if given enough YAC opportunities."

[player_tooltip player_id='1189042' first='Cayden' last='Adkins'] first popped on my radar late last year. Here is my eval from April 2024:

"Adkins has picked up plenty of buzz this offseason and has added some D1 offers under his belt as a result. Adkins is a thumper at 6'2 235 that could play on the edge or as a traditional LB. I believe he will eventually settle in at EDGE. He has a stout, muscular frame and can consistently battle with blockers. His frame alone indicates he could be a solid edge setter against the run. He is feisty as a pass rusher and plays with outstanding pursuit skills, which allows him to gradually win out. He is a form tackler, striking hard at the numbers and getting his arms around ball carriers before he ragdolls them to the turf. Adkins is a body type that teams need in the front seven, and he is reaping the rewards of it on the trail."

[player_tooltip player_id='1158112' first='Dennis' last='Uzochukwu'] is a PRZ Stock Up Showcase alum. He is a freak athlete with impressive mobility for his size. Here is my most recent eval:

"[player_tooltip player_id='1158112' first='Dennis' last='Uzochukwu']is a gifted athlete just playing football at this point of his career. He comes in at 6'6 235, flashing the frame and length to be a true LT prospect once he fully fills out. We hosted Uzochukwu at our camp in January, and while he was still raw, he flashed plenty of athletic potential. Even while he is still adding fundamentals to his game, Uzochukwu is willing on film to take on contact and can quickly locate and close in on blockers in the second level. At the end of the day, there aren't many prospects in the country that can add 60+ pounds to their frame and still maintain athleticism. He may be a project, but he may be worth the investment 3-4 years down the road."

Uzochukwu has skyrocketed his weight, now exceeding 280 pounds.
