is a beast. Whitehead is a special type of athlete that doesn’t come around often, and he is a dominant force. He can line up anywhere on that front line. He sets the tone coming off the edge at a fast pace, he reads and reacts very well, and is very twitchy.

Very good height and frame. Very good athletic ability with very good acceleration, explosiveness, balance, change of direction, foot quickness, lateral movement, and flexibility. Elite speed rush with an elite upfield burst at the snap, using his acceleration and explosiveness to gain outside leverage to bend around the offensive tackle to corner and finish on the QB. Very good outside-to-inside move at varying speeds within his pass-rush plan to apply pressure in multiple ways. Very good use of hands, utilizing his long arms to keep separation and offensive linemen from gaining a grip inside his frame. Very good run defender, using his very good hand placement to engage offensive linemen to shed the block, using his lateral movement to make tackles down the line of scrimmage showing good range out of the position. Overall, an elite prospect who is one of the best in his class. As he develops his strength, he will add a power rush into his pass rush plan that will allow him to be a dominant edge defender at the Power-4 level. Currently holds offers from multiple Power-4 schools, most notably Georgia.

The next big thing and our top ranked defensive lineman Christ Whitehead does not need an introduction. He has been causing havoc for LC Bird opponents off the edge, the dude is a force.
He has a long reach and comes off the ball quickly, reminds of a young Hassan Reddick the way he gets his hands on opposing blockers. Ranked 4th in our class overall Whitehead has 10 FBS offers and boasts a 3.8 GPA. For the next couple of seasons he will be one of the most sought out recruits in the country.

6’4-6’5, weighing between 215-225. Fits the stereotypical class-defining pass-rusher mold. 3.8 GPA. Almost listed as an ATH considering he can align anywhere on the defensive line. Whitehead can also serve as an OLB in most 3-4 fronts, he’s got the burst and length to play the position athletically. LC Bird can get creative with Whitehead at TE or wideout, although I firmly believe his future lies along the front seven in some fashion/alignment. Offers out of Syracuse, Penn State, Florida State, and VA Tech. Will end up a 15-20+ offer holder.
Tape starts off with his hand in the dirt in a traditional DE alignment. Fantastic backfield reader, displays a good/great understanding of offensive traffic flow. Shows he can work upfield to get the quarterback deep in the pocket, next rep shows he can crash down the LOS to help shut down run plays before they can expand into the second level. Has some game-wrecker in him, looks to play the football when attacking quarterbacks. Can catch tackles off-guard after the snap thanks to an athletic get-off, often gets his hands inside the chest of a tackle only to quickly and powerfully swipe the hands to create displacement. Phenomenal pursuit angles taken, great motor too. If Whitehead can put on a good 5-10 pounds of muscle while maintaining athleticism and twitch, he’ll stay among the top of our ranks for years on end. I’ll keep my eye on how LC Bird utilizes Whitehead away from DE if they decide to explore and expand on his positional versatility.

. At defensive end for the Seahawks Whitehead looks like a young Jevon Kearse terrorizing the opposing team. He is a pain to block with his long reach and speed he is often in the backfield right after the snap.
Whitehead is 6’5 and 225 lbs. without any baby fat the young man is all muscle. He very well could lead the state in sacks this fall and do not be surprised if you see him involved more offensively for the Seahawks too.
