Virginia’s Braylon Lester is growing up before our eyes, he too will be appearing in our top 100 after checking in at 377 last year. Since finishing his junior campaign, Lester has picked up 3 well deserved offers. 6’3 and 300 lbs., the big man is destined for more before Week 0, earning a spot in our top 100.

Braylon was one prospect I was excited to see compete at the showcase. What impressed me most was how light on his feet he was. I did not hear his footsteps in the agility testing which I do not generally see in players his size. He is built with a very good frame for offensive linemen. Tested well in lateral movement with a 5.15 Shuttle drill. When I watch his film, I always come away with Braylon as one of those players who just knows how to win his reps. The showcase let me see up close his recovery ability where he could refit himself and anchor to win most of his reps. As he continues to develop his initial quickness and explosiveness out of his set to create better initial leverage and half-man relationships, Braylon will become an intriguing prospect for the next level, likely at a Guard position with his current height.

He is another kid whose ranking doesn’t do him justice as he was 1st team Southwest District selection this past year. A lot to like about Lester’s game he is big mean and nasty up front. He is 6’3 and 290 lbs. Lester is a borderline Division 1 prospect.

Braylon has shown himself to be a dependable right tackle for the Bearcats this past week. He showed his ability to block in the Gap, Zone, and Pass schemes the Bearcats ran. I especially like the Hook block he makes at the 51-second mark of his film below against an outside-shaded defensive end. His first step was perfect to position himself to use a strong outside arm and turn the defender inside. Be sure to keep Braylon on your radar this fall.
