We are going to highlight several prospects that had strong performances over the weekend. The 2025 and 2026 classes are going to have a large impact on the 2024 season. Here are a few players to watch out for over the next few months.
Parker Nix Parker Nix 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Rogers | 2026 State AR -Quarterback-Rogers-6’2” 180-Pounds-2026
The Rogers signal caller is a prospect that I have been watching for the past couple of seasons. Nix did not disappoint one bit at the Prep Redzone camp in Little Rock over the weekend. He showcased good arm strength and impressive footwork. Nix has the ability to extend the play and he makes great use of his elusiveness. He performed well in drills over the weekend, and I came away impressed with his arm strength and accuracy. He has the potential to have a strong 2024 football season.
Antonio Shelton II Antonio Shelton II 6'0" | 185 lbs | LB Benton Panthers | 2026 State AR -Linebacker-Benton-6’0” 180-Pounds-2026
Antonio Shelton is a prospect that can switch from the linebacker spot to the cornerback or safety positions in the blink of an eye. He is a prospect that opened plenty of eyes with his speed this weekend. Shelton reads the play well and reacts quickly. Shelton had several players defending the pass where he knocked the ball away or came down with the football. He performed well in one-on-one competition over the weekend. He is a player to watch out for this summer. Shelton has the potential to do big things on Friday nights in the future.
Brantlee Phillips Brantlee Phillips 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Mountain Home | 2026 State AR -Quarterback-Mountain Home-6’4” 192-Pounds-2026
I had the opportunity to watch Phillips last season. He is a signal caller that does a nice job of extending the play in the pocket. He did the same thing on Saturday in Little Rock. Phillips has great footwork and moves around extremely well in the pocket. Phillips throws an accurate pass and can fit the football into some tight coverages. Mountain Home is in good hands over the next couple of seasons with Phillips under center.
Akin Johnson Akin Johnson 6'1" | 155 lbs | WR Farmington | 2026 State AR -Wide Receiver-Farmington-6’1” 145-Pounds-2026
Akin Johnson Akin Johnson 6'1" | 155 lbs | WR Farmington | 2026 State AR is a wide receiver that I have had the opportunity to watch several times over the past few months. He runs smooth routes and uses the route running to create separation from opposing defensive backs. Over the weekend, I came away impressed with his agility and quickness. Johnson is a player that does not give up on a play. Johnson had a good camp showing and I look forward to seeing what he does in the Farmington Spring Game this Friday.
Elijah Jones Elijah Jones 5'10" | 185 lbs | LB Little Rock Parkview | 2026 State AR -Linebacker-Little Rock Parkview-5’9” 180-Pounds-2026
The speed and versatility that Elijah Jones Elijah Jones 5'10" | 185 lbs | LB Little Rock Parkview | 2026 State AR has continues to impress me each time I watch him on the field. Jones displayed the ability to play multiple positions on Saturday in Little Rock. He has the quickness to go sideline to sideline. Jones can pursue and bring down the ball carrier. In pass coverage, Jones does a great job of playing the ball while it is in the air. He is another talented prospect out of Parkview to watch out for over the next few seasons.
