Here is a report on five Prep Redzone Kansas-ranked athletes who showed off their skills at the Junior Day combine.

[player_tooltip player_id='442342' first='Max' last='Huston'], QB, 6'1”, 180, Seaman, ‘25

Huston is ranked No. 16 overall in the class of 2025 and is the No. 2 ranked quarterback. Huston recorded one of the top marks in the vertical jump. He leaped 120 inches and showed off his strength benching 185 lbs. fourteen times. His 3.45 second pro agility was one the best times at the combine and he was clocked in the forty at 4.54 seconds.

[player_tooltip player_id='570205' first='Jermarion' last='Lyles'], DL, 6'2”, 285, Washburn Rural, ‘25

Lyles is a talented defensive lineman currently ranked No. 54 overall in the Kansas 2025 class. His strength was evident as he benched 185 lbs. sixteen times. His forty time during the combine was 5.60 seconds and his pro agility time was 5.32 seconds. He is expected to be heavily recruited and will be all over the camp and combine scenes this spring and summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='585907' first='John' last='Hoytal'], QB, 6'3”, 190, Washburn Rural, ‘26

Hoytal has a great frame for the quarterback position. He is currently ranked No. 51 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas and is the seventh-ranked quarterback. His combine numbers were solid. He had a 105.5 inch vertical, and bench pressed 185 lbs. six times. Hoytal ran the forty in 4.98 seconds and completed the pro agility in 4.54 seconds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1114825' first='Elijah' last='Thomas'], OL, 6'4”, 250, Highland Park, ‘26

Thomas is a new addition to the class of 2026 rankings this month. He is currently ranked No. 222 overall. He completed seven reps at 185 lbs. in the bench press. He completed the speed drills with a 6.10 forty time and the pro agility in 6.02 seconds. All of those numbers can be improved for the young Scottie “big man” who can play on the offensive or defensive line.

[player_tooltip player_id='933824' first='Coy' last='Barta'], ATH, 6'1”, 150, Seaman, ‘27

Barta is currently ranked No. 27 overall in the class of 2027. He can play wideout or defensive back and showed off some of the natural talent that earned that ranking at this combine. Two of his numbers were a bit of a shock. First, was that he benched 185 lbs. sixteen times and he ran a 5.24 forty. The forty-time seems slow, especially since he ran a 4.39-second pro agility. The bench press mark shows that he is no stranger to the weight room.
