Expert Analysis
Josh White | Prep Redzone Scout
Coger has one of the more complete running profiles in the state. Similar to a five tool player in baseball he can use his skill, size, and speed to make the play. However his vision is allows him to maximize carries and punish defenses when they make mistakes.
This vision allows him to sift through condensed spaces, operate well open-field situations, and identify creases quickly. However he doesn’t get lost in the mud and continues to work north and south. Once he choses his route – Coger can subtly make guys miss with quickness and shiftiness or finish through contact with his wiry frame.

is an explosive RB from Jasper we’ve had eyes on for a while, who’s recently and deservingly blown up in the recruiting world.
“Coger is highly athletic- he has great speed and acceleration, can make defenders miss, and plays with a ton of physicality out of the backfield. Coger has great initial quickness but explodes with speed once he’s past the line of scrimmage- he’s patient in the backfield, waits for blocks and rushing lanes to develop, then finally cuts through to create massive plays.
Coger’s acceleration in the open field is extremely impressive; he can completely separate from defenses within just a few seconds, consistently turning upfield and creating massive plays on the ground. I think what impresses me most about Coger is how he pairs his vision and speed together- it doesn’t matter if he’s on offense, defense, or special teams, he sees the field incredibly well and quickly finds ways to create impact plays wherever he lines up.“
A little while back, Coger picked up a HUGE offer from LSU! It was awesome to see, he’s a seriously talented player who’s impressed us since his freshman season- I won’t be surprised when he picks up more national attention soon.
If you haven’t watched any of his tape before, be sure to take a look below. He and Jasper have a huge season ahead this upcoming fall, we all need to look out!

Coger runs with purpose. His one-cut footwork minimizes wasted motion and allows him to hit vertical lanes with immediacy. He doesn’t dance — he identifies leverage and attacks it. This footwork is highlighted in his efficiency in congested areas. His subtle lateral quickness, shiftiness, and speed can bail him out of trouble.
At contact, he finishes through defenders rather than around them. His return-game vision underscores his feel for spacing and crease recognition in open field environments. Coger’s blend of downhill mentality and spatial awareness makes him a tone-setting back whose value extends beyond traditional carries.

. The Jasper Vikings finished just 1-9 in 2023, but Coger is a piece to help build around for a program that hasn’t finished above .500 in five years. Coger saw time as a Defensive Back this past season, but he may be even better as a wide receiver or running back. He has the potential to be a really good one.
