The KC Varsity Combines have been one of the can't-miss events in the midwest over the last couple years. Each year hundreds of athletes, primarily from Missouri and Kansas flock to this combine series. They'll be in Kansas City, Mo. (4/27), St. Charles, Mo. (5/4) and Prairie Village, Ks. (5/11). Here's a look at some of the 8th grade (class of 2028) talents that are scheduled to be at the KC Varsity Combine in Kansas City this weekend.

Linemen

[player_tooltip player_id='1258401' first='Tristin' last='Chatmon'] | Ray-Pec (Mo.) - Strong interior Defensive Tackle, built like a fire hydrant that can stop the run and get after the passer. Was named Ray-Pec East's Defensive Lineman of the Year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258458' first='Drake' last='Franke'] | Liberty North (Mo.) - Should be one of the better 2028 offensive linemen that come through the KC Varsity Combines this spring. Has a mean streak, good strength and the agility to pull.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258505' first='Zyler' last='Snapp'] | Savannah (Mo.) - A multi-sport athlete with a frame that suggests there's a lot left to pull out of him. Really impressive hips for a bigger kid. The younger brother of a college-bound Wide Receiver, there are athletic genes to work with. How his body develops will determine if he ends up playing OL, DL or TE.

Skill Positions

[player_tooltip player_id='1258402' first='Dane' last='Burns'] | Ray-Pec (Mo.) - A good-looking Wide Receiver/Free Safety type of athlete with excellent ball skills. Best asset is his speed--he can absolutely fly in open field. Claims a 4.83 forty and a 4.4 in the 5-10-5.

[player_tooltip player_id='1080736' first='Edric' last='Zorn'] | Halstead (KS) - Running Back with a good combination of speed and power for this level. Spends obvious time working on his body and is already running a verified 4.88 (hand) in the forty.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258445' first='Levi' last='Schrader'] | Liberty (Mo.) - A smaller Wide Receiver/Defensive Back prospect, that plays much bigger than his size would indicate. Flashes reliable hands and a nose for the end zone.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258468' first='Emanuel' last='Eliseo'] | Liberty (Mo.) - A raw Wide Receiver with a huge upside, in my opinion. Haven't ever seen him play in person, but the improvements in route running, functional movements, getting in and out breaks, etc. on the clips he posts on social media have been plentiful.

[player_tooltip player_id='1238373' first='Bennett' last='Terwilleger'] | Park Hill South (Mo.) - Versatile prospect who primarily plays Wide Receiver on the offensive side of the ball, in addition to Outside Linebacker on defense. Also can play Safety in the box too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258495' first='Jordan' last='Wright'] | Raytown South (Mo.) - A big play Wide Receiver that can go up and get the ball with the best in the mid-west. Really long arms and a good vertical help him win a lot 50/50 balls. Once he gets working in a weight room, he should become even more dangerous.

[player_tooltip player_id='1258516' first='Titus' last='Grayson'] | Staley (Mo.) - Another long Wide Receiver/Defensive Back type of prospect with impressive movement on film. Both staight line speed and horizontal quickness are advanced at this point. Need to see more football film to get a better read on him, but he's got wheeels.
