Eight-Man Gems: 2025 Offensive Weapons

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Eight-Man ranks in Kansas are an underappreciated level of high school football which has seen several talented players go on to play college football.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here is a look at five eight-man athletes scouts and college scouts need to become aware of moving forward. Each is an impressive weapon in their respective program's offensive game plan.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Cordell Jordan,</strong> RB, 6'0”, 150, Oxford, ‘25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jordan toted the rock 130 times in nine games for Oxford as a junior. He gained 973 total yards and scored 15 touchdowns. He has nice hands and catches the ball out of the backfield. He has also used those hands to grab four interceptions over the past two seasons. He can play linebacker or safety. He racked up 66 total tackles and eight tackles for loss last fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Lincoln Shafer,</strong> ATH, 6'0”, 160, Greeley County, ‘25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Shafer is a three-sport prospect for Greeley County. He took some snaps last at quarterback for the Jackrabbits but might be best suited to play tailback. He completed 47 percent of his pass attempts for 458 yards and seven touchdowns. He also used his legs as weapons rushing for 804 yards and nine scores. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 51 total tackles, one interception, and one fumble recovery.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Ryland Price</strong>, RB, 5'9”, 160, Dighton, ‘25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Price is a sneaky quick back who rushed for 797 yards during his junior season. He carried the ball 121 times and scored 11 touchdowns. He also scored 2 receiving touchdowns with 13 total catches. That speed plays on defense as Price finished with 71 tackles and four interceptions.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='282254' first='Jase' last='Pavlik']</strong>, QB, 5'10”, 150, Cair Paravel, ‘25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pavlik is a dangerous signal caller who helped guide Cair Paravel to the 8M Division I state semifinals last season. Pavlik has an accurate arm, can throw a deep ball, and can beat defenses with his legs. He will have no issues transitioning from the eight-man game to play 11-man football. He is also a solid defensive back and could help teams on special-team units.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kendall Grippin</strong>, QB, 6'0”, 160, Macksville, ‘25</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Grippin is a multi-sport talent for the Macksville Mustangs. He accounted for 14 total touchdowns last season in nine games. He threw nine touchdowns and rushed for five. He threw for 710 yards and rushed for 305. He plays guard on the Macksville basketball squad and averaged 8-plus points during his junior season. His best sport might be baseball where he pitches and plays first base.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
