Eli lines up on the defensive side of the ball as a hybrid defensive back/safety for the Conquerors, showing the versatility to play both in the secondary and down in the box. He showed, only a few times on film, he can be comfortable on the deep ball and isn’t afraid to step up and make a tackle, bringing a physical presence when needed. Eli shows a good backpedal and can transition quickly when changing direction. He also does a good job of getting off blocks to help finish plays. I’d like to see him continue to develop and showcase more of his coverage ability in the secondary on film, because he’s already shown he can play in the box, pending the formation of the offense. He does well playing cutback and finding open gaps to fit.
