Ball Carriers Of The Week

This week, Washington saw some big time playmakers at RB. Numerous players popped off for big time performances and look to increase their recruiting attention. Take a look at 5 RB's who had a big week: <img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-108908" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/02/PRZ-crop-750x492-1613408357-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /> <strong>Dylan Carson</strong>, <em>6’0" 195lbs, Marysville-Pilchuck HS (C/O ’22)</em> Carson had a big game with 241 yards and 4 TD’s on the ground to beat Arlington 42-19. He displayed a nice initial burst and hits the hole with a purpose. He showed good vision to spot quick and narrow developing holes. He showcased his top end speed to finish big runs, and proved to hold legit big play ability. Carson stepped up big and will look to continue to rise his stock. <strong>Va’a Hansen,</strong> <em>5’10" 170lbs, Graham Kapowsin HS (C/O ’21)</em> Hansen is just a flat out fun football player to watch. He ran for 205 yards, had 65 yards receiving, and racked up 5 total TD’s, which also included a pick six on defense to beat Peninsula. He’s an explosive back and does a great job accelerating through tight spaces. He showed solid balance and physicality at the point of contact. He was very effective in the screen game and proved to be an all-purpose back. Definitely a player to get on your radar if he’s not already. <strong>Michael Purl</strong>, <em>5’11" 175lbs, Cascade HS (C/O ’21)</em> Purl ran for 275 yards and 3 TD’s on the victory over Everett High school. His lateral vision and ability to quickly react and bounce runs outside really stood out to me. He does an excellent job of making something out of nothing. He showed flashes of shiftiness to make opponents miss and looked like he could be dangerous with more space to work. He had a nice TD for about 58 yards as he accelerated through a narrow hole up the gut and used his top end speed to take it to the house.<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-76524" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2020/11/IMG_4442-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> <strong>Steele Swinton,</strong> <em>5’8" 165lbs, Edmonds-Woodway HS (C/O ’21)</em> Swinton went off for 137 yards and 3 TD’s to beat Shorewood High 47-0. He is a versatile kid that lined up in the backfield and at slot. He accelerates well through opening lanes and possesses excellent top end speed once he gets his shoulders squared upfield. He’s a willing blocker as well as he opened up multiple paths for ball carriers to run through. They liked to utilize him n jet sweeps from the slot in which he was very effective. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="87253" first="Turner" last="Allen"],</strong> <em>5’9" 175lbs, Tumwater HS (C/O ’21)</em> Allen rushed for 201 yards and 3 TD’s to beat Steilacoom. He shows a solid change of direction with the ability to stop and stutter on a dime. He has a good eye for developing holes and runs with a low pad level. He displayed good balance to be able to bounce off tacklers and pick up extra yards. He does a great job with ball security once he hits the second level to switch mid-run and put the ball on the correct side to avoid being stripped.
