I got invited out to Next Level Athletix’s Sunday morning session at Westmont Yard so I had to go check it out. There was a mix of Varsity and JV players in attendance which was nice to get a look at the younger guys. Here are the QBs from Sunday’s session.
22’s Brandon McCoy St. Laurence HS Twitter Highlights I’ve seen McCoy’s film months ago and his film doesn’t do him justice. This was the first time I’ve seen him in person and it was a sight to see. He’s able to throw on the run, make the quick throws, and run the read-option. The QB training he gets from Next Level Athletix translates in every aspect of his game with what St. Laurence likes to do on offense. There’s no doubt in my mind that come March 19th when the pads come on Mr. McCoy is going to turn heads with his skillset. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1371912793918738447?s=20 23’s Evan Grazzini York HS Twitter Highlights Here’s a young player that already has a solid frame to him. He’s able to put zip on the ball and gets the ball out fast. He still has room to develop and hone his craft, that being said as a 23’ he’s ahead of the pact. I expect Mr. Grazzini to build upon his success from last season and start to get his name out there in the recruiting process. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1371913605306781700?s=20 Anthony Picciolini Benet Academy Twitter Highlights Another young gunslinger is Mr. Picciolini from Benet Academy. He already the frame of a starting varsity QB and arm strength to go with it. He can put zip on the ball which goes hand in hand with his pocket footwork. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mr. Picciolini gains a lot of interest from the next level after this spring season is over. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1371914466560999428?s=20 24’s [player_tooltip player_id="118868" first="Casey" last="Giemzik"] Brother Rice HS Twitter Brother Rice seems to have a QB carousel with talented players and it continues with Mr. Giemzik. He has the frame of a varsity QB and is one of the more talented 24 QB’s that I’ve seen. He’s ahead of the pact with his footwork, timing of routes, and making throws on the run. He has four more years to develop before his high school career is over and I expect Mr. Giemzik to be dominant in each one. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1371915142074662919?s=20 25’s [player_tooltip player_id="118787" first="Logan" last="Malachuk"] Nazareth Academy Twitter Highlights Last but not least we have the 25’ QB that is headed to Nazareth Academy next year. He’s ahead of his peers when it comes to skill development as he’s able to compete with the older QBs in that regard. Malachuk has years to continue honing his craft, that being said he’s one of the younger talented QBs that still have room to grow. Mr. Malachuk is a name to keep on your radar as the sky is the limit with his potential. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1371915837452521473?s=20
These athletes are going to turn heads when the pads come on March 19th to showcase their development. Keep an eye on these names as in the coming years they could be playing on Saturdays. Thank you again Next Level Athletix for having me out to your Sunday Session, I enjoyed being able to meet your athletes and coaches. Be sure to follow @jamaskane regarding news & information for Illinois High School Football and @PrepRedzone.
