Barquinero completed 59 percent of his passes for 2048 yards with 21 touchdowns and just six interceptions for Oceanside last season and ran for four touchdowns.
He’s a pro-style, drop back passer with a plus arm which helps him fit the ball into tight windows down the field. Barquinero has a quick release and can hit receivers right out of their breaks. He had strong showings at the You Are Athlete camp and Prep Redzone Exposure Series this offseason.
Barquinero had one of the better arms in the group and had the most college-ready frame in the group. He consistently got the ball out on time and had nice touch on the deeper throws. His footwork came and went which prevented him from being a top three performer, but he was one of the first guys to catch your eye when you watched the quarterbacks.
Barquinero completed 59 percent of his passes for 2048 yards with 21 touchdowns and just six interceptions for Oceanside last season and ran for four touchdowns.
He’s a pro style guy who throws really well when his feet are set which is commonplace in camps like these. Barquinero can throw off-platform too and throws well down the field.
Barquinero completed 59 percent of his passes for 2048 yards with 21 touchdowns and just six interceptions for Oceanside last season and ran for four touchdowns.
He’s a traditional pro-style quarterback who makes good reads with the ball and can throw off-platform. Barquinero has good pocket awareness and does a good job keeping his eyes on the secondary while under pressure and delivering good throws while getting hit. He had a strong showing at the You Are Athlete camp early in the offseason.
The Oceanside product is a live passer with a strong arm, good zip on the ball and can throw on time with a quick release and really solid throwing mechanics heading into his junior year for the Pirates. He steps into his throws across the middle and is not afraid to fit it into tight windows while showing he can make off-platform throws as well across his body with deep ball accuracy and velocity over the top. He threw for 2,700+ yards this year with 25+ touchdowns and should be one of the sections leading passers in 2026 for what should be a loaded oceanside squad on both sides of the ball with plenty of next level talent across the board.
Barquinero completed 59 percent of his passes for 2048 yards with 21 touchdowns, six interceptions with four rushing touchdowns for Oceanside as a sophomore.
