I was familiar with Benson prior to the camp, but I thought what he did today did wonders for his recruiting stock. He possesses a true 6’3″ frame and looked more technically refined than he did half a year ago. He stood out as having among the best arms in the camp, and showed that he could really stretch the field with multiple deep shots dropped perfectly for the receiver. Benson also boasts a clean and high release point in his throwing motion. You often see athletes take a substantial leap between their junior and senior years, and I think Benson could be on that track.

One QB that I kept a close eye on throughout the camp was Buffalo’s

, one of the more familiar names that attended this camp. Benson had a tall and clear presence within this group. He throws with a solid spiral and had plenty of moments where he looked accurate and sharp. After an up-and-down first year as starter for Buffalo, Benson gained a boost of confidence with this solid performance during the showcase. Benson will be a name that you should keep on your radar this season, as he could be a dark horse contender to have a breakout campaign in 2025.

A QB prospect with a clear collegiate upside, while Benson struggled at times last season, he’s been putting in the work with noted QBs coach 612QBs and he possesses plenty of raw traits that would serve him well at the next level. Immediately on his tape his frame shines, Benson sits just shy of 6’4″ and he’s got the arm talent to match. If you give him a clean pocket and time for the play to develop a little, Benson can sling it with the best of them. He loves to push the ball deep, and when he needs to he can throw it on an absolute rope into a tight window. While he’s not Lamar Jackson mobile, he can certainly extend the play with his legs by bouncing around in the pocket, and when needed can even scramble for those key extra yards. Benson is in a great position to have a stellar senior season.

was the 3rd string QB for the Bison last season, but will be propelled into the starting job heading into his senior year with previous starters Kyler Kelvie and Grady Guida both having graduated. Benson thrived as the JV starter last season. Benson has excellent pocket presence, and can throw dimes even with defenders getting right at his face. Benson also does well at tucking the ball and running down the field, and he’s not afraid to lower the shoulder to gain extra yards. Benson’s mechanics continue to grow heading into this season, and with the tools around him, Benson could have a monster-senior year.
