Weeks after the opening of the traditional February signing period, several talented Louisiana athletes continue to look for college homes — including some potential Division-I talents.

Here's a look at six standouts from around the state still available on the offensive side of the ball to become late steals for the schools that land them.

[player_tooltip player_id='285273' first='Kobe' last='Brown'] — 5-10, 155 WR — St. James

The Wildcats' standout has often been overlooked because of his smaller size, but has consistently disproved critics as a multisport standout who racked up 77 catches, 1,354 yards, 17 touchdowns and all-state honors in his final high school football season. BYU, Air Force and Mississippi Valley State have been among the programs to make late moves — whether P.W.O. or scholarship.

[player_tooltip player_id='675900' first='Dagan' last='Bruno'] — 6-2, 180 QB/ATH — John Curtis

Bruno showed the athleticism and decision-making throughout his high school career to run his Patriots' veer option offense to perfection, including a state championship as a junior. But, when given the opportunity, he also showed a notable effectiveness as a passer that may make him a more well-rounded college prospect at his quarterback position than he has gotten credit for. Recent developments for Bruno include a visit Northwestern State, an offer from Culver-Stockton and the conclusion of his senior basketball season as one of his team's top players in that sport.

[player_tooltip player_id='677668' first='Bryce' last='Godfrey'] — 6-3, 270 OL — John Curtis

Still looking for some help in the trenches? One of Louisiana's top offensive linemen — for a veer-running perennial power built as much as anyone on the strength of that position group — is still looking for a college home. Godfrey has been a versatile blocker up front and all-around leader for his Patriots, including back-to-back all-state selections and a 2022 state championship. Mississippi College hosted him on a late-February visit.

[player_tooltip player_id='902135' first='DeCareyn' last='Sampson'] — 5-11, 175 RB/ATH — Avoyelles

The Mustangs' speedster may have gotten somewhat overlooked this year at a smaller, rural program that had graduated a notable 2023 class, underwent a coaching transition this past offseason and then got off to a slow start overall. But Sampson still racked up more than 1,300 yards and 17 touchdowns as a follow-up to his junior campaign of nearly 2,800 yards for scrimmage and 36 touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1202570' first='E.J.' last='Scott'] — 5-8, 150 WR — Alexandria

Scott caught 50 passes for 697 yards and nine touchdowns this fall, leading the team in all three categories, to earn all-district and all-metro recognitions. The small, but fast receiver showed the speed to stretch the field vertically, but also the quickness and route-running to use that threat to burn defenders on shorter and intermediate routes — an emergence that was pivotal in the Trojans' ascent during the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='285279' first='Brayden' last='Williams'] — 6-0, 190 QB — St. James

One of the most decorated members of the state's senior class is still looking for a college home. Williams completed nearly 63% of his passes for 2,494 yards, 30 touchdowns and five interceptions, plus another 697 yards and 15 touchdowns rushing, as a senior for a second straight all-state selection — this time as the Class 3A Offensive MVP. Navy has entered the picture late for the well-rounded student-athlete, but he is still weighing his options in a college football landscape where opportunities and rosters are both more fluid than ever.

Weeks after the opening of the traditional February signing period, several talented Louisiana athletes continue to look for college homes — including some potential Division-I talents.
