We will feature three provinces per film room, along with two prospects each from those provinces. Look for this series coming out multiple times per week, as this should give us a good scope of prospect coverage country wide as we wind thru winter into Spring. Let’s meet the first prospects as the 3-2 Film Room is now in Session I.
British Columbia:
Lucas Gonzales, WR/DB, Vancouver College (2025) Twitter
It didn’t take long to identify how sound Lucas football IQ is on tape, as his pre-snap read steps and ideal positioning lay the groundwork for the rest of his rep. He has the twitch I look for out of the cornerback position as that agile instinct to the ball certainly will be catchy to college coaches this summer as well as his long 6’1 185 pound body. As one could expect, Lucas also shows off great physicality with his contact level. You can’t forget that this kid plays on both sides of the ball either, as he impressed me with his burst off the snap as a prospect that has upside to grow with his start-stop agility with his route running. Buy stock early, not late on Lucas Gonzales of Vancouver College.
Carter Cook Carter Cook 6'4" | 225 lbs | QB Rutland Senior Secondary | 2026 CAD , QB, Rutland Secondary (2026) Twitter
Carter is a 2026 quarterback prospect that shows off an excellent touch on every throw, especially on intermediate routes. He also shows off a quick release with his pocket presence that just fire-pops quickly into tight windows that only his receiver can get to with his short field precision. It is clear that Carter excels with his field vision however there certainly is some upside for his upside to grow in the coming years. I believe he can grow more fluidity with his arm strength to adjust his speeds based on what is needed route by route. He certainly shows off the balanced demeanor I like and should be one to look at early out of Rutland.
Alberta:
Aldin Bilalbegovic Aldin Bilalbegovic 6'6" | 190 lbs | WR Hunting Hills | 2025 State CAD , WR, Hunting Hills (2025) Twitter
By far one of the longest 2025 wide receivers Alberta has to offer is Aldin Bilalbegovic Aldin Bilalbegovic 6'6" | 190 lbs | WR Hunting Hills | 2025 State CAD out of Hunting Hills in Red Deer. Standing at 6’6 190 pounds, to no surprise the first skillset that draws me in on tape is the huge strides this young man shows off with as a route-runner that is he is running a vertical route, good luck slowing him down. Aldin shows off a wide receiver that you can trust in 1v1 coverage to go up and use his athleticism to make the play on the ball in the air as on tape I still see some upside growing his vertical higher. Despite his length, Aldin also shows off precise balance with his footwork around the sidelines and shows that he doesn’t need much wiggle room to operate in small windows. If this young man is not an early offer amongst Alberta 2025 prospects, I would be surprised.
Carson Hartmann Carson Hartmann 6'2" | 290 lbs | DL Salisbury | 2025 State CAD , DL, Salisbury Composite (2025) Twitter
One of our top 2025 defensive tackles within 2025 rankings is 6’2 295 pounder Carson Hartmann Carson Hartmann 6'2" | 290 lbs | DL Salisbury | 2025 State CAD who I believe has the most powerful shedding hands in the country. Carson’s stellar awareness also is excellent off the snap as the fluidity of his motor has plenty of power and barely needs to tap his defender before he instinctively blows by them into the backfield, which from an instincts perspective, Carson is highly gifted. He constantly shows off the smoothest pursuit angles to get downhill as his physicality is off the charts. Carson could be a 2025 prospect that could be a mover in the next 2025 Canada rankings, stay tuned.
Manitoba:
Sam Opanubi, DB, St. Paul’s (2026) Twitter
At 6’3 180 pounds, there is no question that the tape shows Sam as a prospect that is a physical specimen when you look at the build of his frame and athletic movement he moves with. The fluidity of Sam’s footwork at the free safety position shows the depth of Sam’s agility and how long his strides to the ball truly are on tape. With Sam’s velocity with his change of direction, it constantly is shown on tape it only takes him a couple steps in the middle of the field to be right in the receiver’s wheelhouse where his physical ball skills show tons of finesse especially playing downhill. He certainly looks the best 2026 defensive prospect I have seen out of Manitoba, and I think you could make a case as one of the best in Canada too in that 2026 class.
Wyatt Stie Wyatt Stie 6'2" | 290 lbs | OL Vincent Massey | 2026 CAD , Vincest Massey (2026) Twitter
Wyatt quickly on tape shows how effective his hands are with his pad-level very early on tape. He is able to pin his hands in an excellent spot to slow down the drive of the defensive linemen’s body and pin him in place and also hits the spot with his footwork as they align well on his first reps on tape. Wyatt also shows off a great first step off the snap and I believe his upside shows growth to make it even quicker. Also understands angle blocking with development on getting more leverage. With two more years under his belt, there is no question this young man is solid in pass protection but I would like to see more anger in his punches to create more pancakes. At 6’2 280 pounds, I certainly think Wyatt has a college football future with upside that a college cause is certainly going to want.
