Expert Analysis
Paul Gregorian | Prep Redzone Scout
Idoni is one of the top 2028 running backs across the central valley and made the transfer over to Central East this off-season, which was one of the biggest transfers across the region that no one is talking about. He is explosive in the open field, sees the field well inside the tackles and can run physical with contact balance and short area twitch and is a natural ball carrier that looks for contact and runs hard inside. He should once again be atop the rushing leaderboards across the central section in 2026 and should really see his stock rise this season and start pulling in some offers at the FBS/FCS level.

Idoni made the transfer over to Central East this off-season and quietly made perhaps the top transfer move of any prospect across the central valley this off-season. He has been one of the top rushers in the section since his freshman year and is a elite talent that checks all the boxes for the position and should have plenty of FBS offers by the time his Junior season gets underway. He is a explosive ball carrier with short area twitch in the hole, good vision in tight windows and cutback abilities and has elite contact balance while always falling forward. He has a strong initial burst and can easily break arm/ankle tackles and is a natural receiver out of the backfield the big play abilities. Look for him to be atop of Central Station rushing ranks by the time the 2026 season comes to a close.

Once he gets to space, his top-end speed and quick acceleration allow him to separate from defenders and create big plays downfield. Hard downhill running that often keeps plays alive with excellent balance and leg drive through contact. Kind of back who can flip field position and score on any given touch. Idoni was one of the top freshman rushers in the entire state going for over 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns on his first prep season. He is a very explosive and twitchy ball carrier with elite open field speed in the clear, shows start/stop abilities in the hole and can make defenders miss in tight windows without losing speed or burst. Through traffic, he has great contact balance when breaking tackles, can run through arm and ankle tackles and forces defenders to take bad angles in the open field with true breakaway speed once in open space. Overall, he is a very complete back and a no brainer P4 caliber prospect should be closing out his first offer soon.
