Unfortunately, our scouts, myself included, weren’t able to make it to Michigan to see some of PA’s best 7v7 squads in action. Was a blast covering last month’s Pylon 7v7 in Delaware, but the trip to Michigan proved to be a lengthy one. Despite not being in attendance, I was able to muster enough film, cut-ups, and data to still cover prospect performances from home, thanks to the hard work of coaches on 412Elite, PA Nike Elite, and AthletesInTraining. Without these coaches, photographers, and help from parents, we wouldn’t be able to have gotten this information out there so kudos to all of them and what they do for the kids.
We will highlight prospects from three standout 7v7 teams. 412Elite, the likes of which we have already covered and winners of THREE straight titles in the 7v7 field, PA Elite Nike and AIT, two teams who have the talent to compete and win against 412Elite.
Jahiem White Jahiem White 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB William Penn (York) | 2023 State PA – 5’9, 185lbs, York HS, C/O 2023
Noah Dudik Noah Dudik 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Bishop Chatard | 2023 IN – 6’0, 160lbs, Norwin HS, C/O 2023
Ahmir Culmer – 6’3, 190lbs, McKeesport HS, C/O 2023
We begin with talent from AIT, who put together a promising opening campaign to start their program. Jahiem White Jahiem White 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB William Penn (York) | 2023 State PA has been brought up time and time again here on this site, and deservedly so. When previewing his film, you see the no-doubt, elite athleticism out of this kid at running back. As we know, running back doesn’t translate to 7v7 action too much. This was an opportunity to further display his versatility as a prospect. He did just that. In my eval, I wanted to see what kind of hands White had, as he only flashed soft hands briefly in his tape. I was left coming away from Michigan highly impressed. Some of the catches he made had me questioning if his height was a typo. It isn’t. His ability to track the ball in the air, time his jump, and high point the ball is FBS-level. Let me remind you, he’s a 5’9” running back. STUD. Another kid who isn’t at elite status prospect-wise, is Noah Dudik Noah Dudik 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Bishop Chatard | 2023 IN , who really solidified his game and what he brings to the table. Love his consistency in his routes. He’s accountable and showed that, scoring multiple times and producing at a high level in Michigan. He continues to develop the little things that could eventually lead to him rising our rankings. We want consistency and production out of Noah. Can see how much time he and his coaches have put into developing his hands. Then we have Ahmir Culmer, a new prospect to our site who has flown low under the radar. The kid carries an awesome, physically-imposing build that he used pretty much at will this past weekend. He showed off some separation speed and soft hands. He dominated at wideout for AIT, securing four touchdowns which led all skill players. He’s done more than enough to enter our watchlist.
Nate Deanes Nate Deanes 5'9" | 175 lbs | ATH South Fayette | 2024 State PA – DB/ATH, 5’9″, 165lbs, South Fayette, C/O 2024
Andrew Mellis – WR/DB, 5’9″, 180lbs, Pine-Richland, C/O 2023
Cadin Olsen Cadin Olsen 6'5" | 225 lbs | QB Armstrong | 2023 State PA – QB, 6’4″, 205lbs, Armstrong, C/O 2023
Landon Alexander Landon Alexander 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Central Valley | 2022 State PA – RB/DB, 6’0″, 180lbs, Central Valley, C/O 2022
Next up, we have PA Elite Nike who is pretty much loaded from top to bottom, all age groupings. Two new names that stood out were Nate Deanes Nate Deanes 5'9" | 175 lbs | ATH South Fayette | 2024 State PA out of South Fayette and Andrew Mellis out of the prestigious Pine-Richland, Deanes being just a freshman. Deanes is on our initial 2024 class rankings but placement at 31 is subject to change quickly. I like what I saw from cut-ups at the event, so I gave his Hudl a shot and was SUPER impressed by what I saw. Deanes is incredibly versatile for his age, showing fearlessness in run support from his safety spot, great recovery speed and foot speed at corner, and great overall elusiveness with the ball in his hands. This is a kid we want to dive into even further. He balled out this past event, as well as Andrew Mellis who showed some elite jumping/high pointing ability. This seems to be the theme of this article, yet again, this kid is just 5’9″ like White and Deanes. He carries some serious bounce in his legs and found the endzone for his squad time and time again. He, much like Deanes, has solidified a watchlist spot to hope to be ranked this coming summer. Next, we have two personal favorites of mine in Cadin Olsen Cadin Olsen 6'5" | 225 lbs | QB Armstrong | 2023 State PA and Landon Alexander Landon Alexander 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Central Valley | 2022 State PA . I have pounded the table for Olsen being a top-three quarterback in his class, others may differ but that’s neither here nor there. All Olsen has done is produce with and without pads on at the 7v7 scene. Olsen carried the 15U and 18U teams, quarterbacking for both while showing a myriad of throws. He can throw with touch, can hit out routes on time and accurately. Absolutely love his timing in the pocket. He’s a sight to watch and I will continue to vouch for this quarterback prospect. Alexander is as-advertised. I have raved about the Central Valley back and so has our lead scout Ed O’Brien. Landon was recently invited to play at the Hawaii Tiki Bowl in Honolulu this coming December.
Brad Birch Brad Birch 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Gateway | 2024 State PA – QB, 6’2″, 190lbs, Jeannette, C/O 2024
Jackson Pons Jackson Pons 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Norwin | 2024 State PA – WR/DB, 6’1″, 160, CCHS, C/O 2024
Malachi Moore – WR/ATH, 6’0″, 180lbs, Gateway, C/O 2023
Sincere Smith Sincere Smith 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Westinghouse | 2023 State PA – WR, 6’0″, 180, Westinghouse, C/O 2023
Last but not least are the usuals from 412Elite. We at Prep Redzone do not take this great streak of dominance for granted. This squad is talented from head to toe, but talent doesn’t win you three straight 7v7 tourney titles. A combination of continuity and chemistry amongst the coaching staff and players is what makes the difference. We’ve spoken highly of the Birch-Pons connection before and will probably see those two flash greatness again before the spring is over. They both deserve deeper scouting dives that will be coming in the future. Moore and Smith, two studs on 412’s offense continue to show what they are capable of. Let us not forget, this is a 15U only team. 412 has earned everything they have accomplished. Can’t wait to see what these kids do with pads on this coming season. I want to see all of this exemplified on the field, I believe a lot of what they’re doing will translate.
