Over the past five seasons, Orlando Edgewater has won 54 games – 23 the last two seasons – and have come up short.

While veteran head coach Cameron Duke and his Eagles continue to play an elite level, getting over that last hurdle has not happened.

The past two years after beating Orlando Jones in the regular season, they lost in the state quarterfinals in 2022 and 2023 to the Tigers. In 2021, it was Lakeland Lake Gibson that knocked them out, 32-14, and in 2020, the Eagles dropped a 31-21 decision to Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, and again in 2019 to the Raiders in the title game, 28-23.

As they head into the off-season, this will once again be a program that will be state-rated and loaded with talent when the season begins in late August.

This spring and summer, you can expect them to compete in high level events – while grooming younger prospects to add to the gifted talent they already have on hand.

Speaking about those athletes, the 2025 rising seniors are stacked with playmakers who have experience and leadership.

Among those players include Luke Anderton (WR, 6-4, 170 – 3.3 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='1551148' first='Jaden' last='Brown'] (DB, 5-9, 165 – 3.0 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='1320723' first='Tyson' last='Carter'] (WR, 5-10, 170 – 4.0 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='992844' first='Semaj' last='Fleming'] (Athlete, 5-10, 180 – 3.0 GPA), Ja'Chory Harris (OL), Christian Henderson (RB/DB, 5-10, 170 – 3.5 GPA), Al Hughley (DB, 6-2, 185 – 2.6 GPA), Duke Mack (DB, 6-0, 185 – 3.7 GPA), and linebacker Gabe Markaj (6-0, 200 – 3.3 GPA).

This team, which also boasts a better than 3.0 GPA in the classroom, also features Brandon Paul (WR, 5-9, 175), newcomer Josh Perry (RB, 5-10, 215 – 3.1 GPA), newcomer Julian Prime (RB, 5-10, 215 – 3.1 GPA), Jaxson Vella LB, 6-0, 180 – 4.3 GPA), and offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1315674' first='Jaden' last='Wilkerson'] (6-6, 330 – 3.4 GPA).

KEEP YOUR EYE ON 2026 CLASS

As impressive as the rising seniors will be, there are also some quality rising juniors to watch – like Aiden Anderson (DE/OLB, 6-2, 225 – 3.2 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='283718' first='Ben' last='Bankowitz'] (OL, 6-3, 275 – 3.9 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='283766' first='Nick' last='Collins'] (DB, 5-11, 170 – 3.3 GPA), Azavier Denmark (LB/RB, 6-0, 210 – 3.0 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='1759486' first='Justin' last='Edwards'] (LB/Athlete, 6-1, 190 – 3.0 GPA), Landon Gaines (DB, 5-10, 180 – 3.6 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='283772' first='Saphir' last='Miller'] (WR/DB, 6-1, 190 – 4.0 GPA), and running back Lawrence Pipkin (5-8, 170 – 3.0 GPA). Also keep track of 2027 rising sophomore lineman Sincere Wilkerson (6-1, 303).
