This state has an incredibly deep pool of linemen to choose from, and I think there are a few that maybe aren’t talked about as highly as I believe they should. In this article I will be highlighting 6 linemen I really like, 2 from each class. Let’s go!
Let’s kick this thing off with a pair of 2025s that I have been high on for a little while now, and I definitely think folks better start paying attention to.
- Cooper Pyle Cooper Pyle 6'3" | 300 lbs | OL Hartland | 2025 State MI , Hartland- Cooper has a ton of traits you long for if you’re scouting offensive linemen. Not only is he a productive offensive lineman, but defensively he is incredibly productive. He moves well, is extremely aggressive and shows a great ability to stay low and drive. In the past he had a habit of lunging on pass protection reps, but he has done a nice job of clearing that up. As long as he continues to fire off the ball quickly and keeps blocking through the whistle like he does now, he is going to be a really hot commodity soon.
- Gregory Myles Gregory Myles 6'2" | 280 lbs | OL Haslett | 2025 State MI , Haslett- I first saw this guy at a camp at CMU last summer, and I saw him at MSU as well and I came away really impressed. Checking his film from this season, it’s evident he has only continued to work and get better. If I had to nitpick anything it would be that sometimes he will stand straight up off the ball, though he still tends to overpower his assignment anyways. I really like how versatile he is between running and passing assignments. He has a D1 grade from me, and I think he will start to really receive that traction with another good year in 2024.
Onto 2026 where we have a couple guys I am really excited about in 2024! This 2026 class had a good number of guys to choose from so it was hard to narrow it down to just 2!
- Emmett Leidi Emmett Leidi 6'0" | 275 lbs | OL Lansing Everett | 2026 MI , Lansing Everett- Emmett was one of the first kids I ever wrote about when I began this journey with PRZ. He absolutely showed out at a 7 on 7/ Big Man Challenge. He has a strong lower half that straight up anchors him in one spot against a bull rush. He has active hands, drives with his legs, and does a great job of staying low. He needs to continue to work in the weight room to keep evolving, but I think his ceiling is really high already.
- Jacob Timmer Jacob Timmer 6'6" | 265 lbs | OL West Catholic | 2026 State MI , Grand Rapids West Catholic- Jacob is already built for the next level. He has a big 6’6 270 frame and he is an absolute people mover. He has a powerful knee drive and a strong base. He can be really mobile as well as he doesn’t get beat by speed guys, and when he gets a full head of steam going up the field, it can be bad news for whoever is in his way. Sometimes he keeps his hands down a little too long, but I think the later in the season you go in his highlights it seems to be corrected. Overall I think this will be a highly sought after prospect out of West Michigan.
Finally we have our 2027 guys that I think will be forces to come soon!
- CJ Tetloff CJ Tetloff 6'2" | 270 lbs | OL Bullock Creek | 2027 State MI , Bullock Creek- CJ has a good number of clips showcasing a quick fire off and relentless drive. He has a hard initial pop that gets guys off balance and then it’s on from there. He has a habit of sometimes getting his hands too far outside, but I think that can be corrected. When he keeps his hands inside and drives, he is as hard to match as anyone. CJ could be one of the more sought after linemen in this whole class by the end of his high school days.
- Vincent Lazarre-Botello Vincent Lazarre-Botello 6'1" | 285 lbs | OL J.W. Sexton | 2027 MI , Orchard Lake St. Mary’s- This is one of the more well known prospects in this class as far as linemen go, but I still think his ceiling is incredibly high. He already has a big frame, and carries it well. He is very mobile and locks onto defenders and doesn’t stop until they end up on their back. He is a people mover and has really sound technique already. I am pumped to see him evolve and develop as he is at a school that will absolutely be able to get the most out of him and turn him into whatever he wants to work for!
