Recruiting Report: Ten More Kansas Prospects Commit

The explosive back from Wichita East plans to begin his college career with the Northern State Wolves. Northern State is a Division II school that competes in the Northern Sun and is located in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Leak had a huge season for the Blue Aces rushing for over 1,800 yards and 30 touchdowns. Dorsey threw for 2,648 yards and 39 touchdowns during his senior season. In two years as a starter, he threw for 4,000 yards and 64 touchdowns. The Griffons will be impressed by the new wideout Myers. Myers had an outstanding senior season for Blue Valley West breaking the program records for receptions in a game (16) and total receptions for a season with 72. The Trailblazer defensive back is headed to Baldwin to play for Miguel Regalado's Baker Wildcats. Baker is an NAIA program that made the playoffs last season. Porter is a shut-down corner who could contribute to Baker's special team squads. Another gifted defensive back the two brothers could end up serving as bookends for the Wildcat secondary. Both Porters have plus speed and nice verticals to contend with opposing wideouts. [player_tooltip player_id='415415' first='Elijah' last='Porter'] is ranked No. 101 overall among his Kansas Class of 2024 peers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='827347' first='Cole' last='Webber'],</strong> TE, 6'4”, 205, Ellsworth (Missouri Southern)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Webber is the seventh-ranked tight end in the Kansas Class of 2024. The Bearcat product will be heading to Joplin, Missouri to play for the Missouri Southern Lions of the MIAA. Webber is a big target who should have an impact win the Lions are in the red zone. He scored six touchdowns during his senior season and caught a total of 24 balls. Webber is currently ranked No. 106 overall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='263240' first='Spencer' last='Dohm']</strong>, LB, 5'11”, 210, St. James Academy (Fort Hays State)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Fort Hays State Tigers are raiding the eastern half of the state by bringing in Dohm from the St. James Academy family. Dohm is currently ranked No. 113 in the Kansas Class of 2024. He is also the 11^th-ranked linebacker in Kansas. The St. James linebacker finished with 100-plus total tackles in back-to-back seasons. He also finished his senior season with 10 tackles for loss, one quarterback sack, and one fumble recovery.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='259784' first='Cooper' last='Simmons']</strong>, ATH, 5'11”, 190, St. Mary's-Colgan (Pittsburg State)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Pittsburg State Gorillas have been signing the top athletes out of Colgan High School for years. New Gorilla Head Coach Tom Anthony is not going to buck that trend during his first recruiting season. Simmons is ranked No. 116 overall in the Class of 2024. He is a versatile athlete who should compete for time on the Pitt State special team units right away.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='827345' first='Loden' last='West']</strong>, LB, 6'2”, 210, Ellsworth (Chadron State)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>West is a physical linebacker, who like his teammate Webber,  is also committing to a Division II school. West is taking his game North and will be playing for the Chadron State Eagles. Chadron State plays in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and is located in Nebraska. West finished his senior season with 136 total tackles. His speed plays on both sides of the ball had 22 tackles for loss last season and rushed for 458 yards. West is ranked No. 152 overall by Prep Redzone.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='545365' first='Jeter' last='Purdy']</strong>, WR, 6'4”, 200, Atchison (Northern Arizona)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Purdy is heading to the southwestern region of the country to play for Northern Arizona. Purdy is ranked No. 133 in among his Kansas peers and played a huge role in the Phoenix Offense. The Lumberjacks will be coached by former Pittsburg State University Head Coach Brian Wright. I imagine Purdy was a recruit that Wright first engaged with while at Pitt State . He made 28 receptions during his senior season for 854 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Lumberjacks are an FCS-Division I program and play in the Big Sky Conference which was won last season by Montana.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
