Since taking over the rankings reigns in Kansas I have been reminded how sometimes we barely scratch the surface of mentioning the athletes in the Sunflower State worthy of attention.

This report is a recruiting update on seven players ranked in the Top 30 of the recently updated Class of 2024 rankings. All of them have committed to college programs, but none of them have been featured on Prep Redzone in the past six months.

I make every effort to update player profiles when I see that a player has committed, but still sometimes miss the news. I am not one to sit on social media all day, but if you tag me in signing announcements I will work to get that updated information reflected in the rankings.

Look for regular recruiting updates on signed players from the Kansas Class of 2024 as we head into the spring combine and camp season.

Also for those athletes still unsigned remember to stay patient and keep working on promoting yourself. There is plenty of time left to sign after the transfer portal and coaching carrousel clouds begin to disperse.

[player_tooltip player_id='262782' first='Brett' last='Carroll'], OL, 6'4”, 285, Olathe East (Minnesota)

Carroll is a physical lineman with a big frame. He is ranked No. 12 overall and is the fourth-highest-ranked offensive lineman in the Kansas Class of 2024. Carroll has committed to play for Big 10 member Minnesota.

[player_tooltip player_id='334741' first='Dominic' last='Werner'], OL, 6'6”, 285, Bishop Miege (Colgate)

Werner uses his size and strength to create space and knock rushers off-balance. He is currently ranked No. 13 overall and is the No. 5 ranked offensive lineman. He has committed to play for FCS member the Colgate Raiders.

[player_tooltip player_id='543070' first='Baker' last='North'], OL, 6'4”, 315, Bishop Miege (Arkansas State)

Another offensive lineman who knows where will play after graduation is Bishop Miege's North. He has committed to play for Sun Belt Conference member the Arkansas State Red Wolves. North plays with reckless aggression and gets a solid push when he run-blocks. North is the sixth-ranked offensive lineman and No. 14 overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='334739' first='Trey' last='Ridley'], DB, 6'1”, 195, Blue Valley Northwest (South Dakota State)

Ridley is a shut-down corner who is headed north after graduation. The Husky senior will be trading in his Blue Valley Northwest jersey for one from the South Dakota Jackrabbits. Ridley has solid closing speed and a big reach. Ridley is the top-ranked DB in his class and is ranked No. 18 overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='146114' first='DaeOnte' last='Mitchell'], QB, 5'11”, 195, Wichita East (Hutchinson CC)

The Blue Aces quarterback will be a future Blue Dragon. The third-ranked QB in the class of 2024 parlayed a solid senior season into a quick signing with Jayhawk Conference member Hutchinson Community College. Mitchell has quick feet and football smarts, but don't be shocked if there is a position change in his future.

[player_tooltip player_id='259743' first='Packson' last='Bettis'], DL, 6'3”, 230, Washburn Rural (North Dakota)

Bettis had a big season for Class 6A Washburn Rural. The run-stopping defensive lineman will be matriculating in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The Junior Blue leader has committed to play for FCS member the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks. Bettis is the fifth-ranked defensive lineman in Kansas and three of the four ranked ahead of him have committed to Power 5 programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='358820' first='Braden' last='Hales'], OL, 6'5”, 290, Olathe North (Colorado State)

Hales is ranked No. 30 overall and the seventh-ranked offensive lineman. The Eagle senior has committed to play for Colorado State. Look for the solid pass-blocker to compete right away for a spot on the Rams' two deep.
