From a handful of NSIC commits, to the athletic 2024 freaks still on the board, and to the #1 ranked specialist in the Mount Rushmore State, we evaluate the tape and tell you why too we were late on a handful of these prospects.
Zoan is another prospect that I am kicking myself for being slightly late on in this 2024 recruiting cycle, as a two-way prospect from Vermillion that is still uncommitted. He has in my eyes, some of the most sound hands amongst slot receivers in 11-man football in South Dakota not to mention, that the instinct Zoan shows when making his cuts, pop out early on tape as you can tell this young man strides with his attention to detail. He also creates ample separation with his athletic striding ability but can also be a big playmaker in high-traffic areas. Division IIs and NAIA schools, I would put this young man in my “offer now” category if I were you.
Lucas is a 2024 linebacker out of Pierre TF Riggs that I certainly don’t think is getting near enough love on his recruiting trail so far. Out of our uncommitted 2024s, you won’t find a hard-hitter in this class that shows off the downhill vision that will smash your ball carrier right in the mouth the the Governors Lucas Chamberlin Lucas Chamberlin 6’1″ | 195 lbs | LB Pierre T.F. Riggs | 2024 State SD . The wrestling background is seen vividly on tape, as the 6’1 195 pounder that is a 3-time state qualifier on the mat, and in my eyes has a quick ceiling to grow based on watching his tape from earlier this season into the state championship game, you can see the growth. He has a couple local NAIA offers, but man I would love to see his recruitment pick up this winter.
Over the 2023 fall season and late summer, Jake Evans and I became huge fans of this Deubrook Area squad and a handful of their prospects including 2024 wide receiver Jake Jorenby Jake Jorenby 6’3″ | ATH Deubrook Area | 2024 State SD . He impressed us with his athleticism he brings with his route-running that shows big playmaker ability on deep routes and a long catch radius. That length also extends to his lower body as a 6’3 185 pounder that has long strides with which I feel more explosiveness to grow in the coming years at the next-level. Has offers for both the gridiron and the hardwood, but would love to see more NAIAs in the Dakotas get involved and could see some light NSIC attention as well.
