Today Prep Redzone PA looks at some of the most explosive backs in the 2022 football recruiting class for Pennsylvania. To be a part of this list, a running back must have carried the football at least 45 times during the 2020 season. This list contains one player that you probably already know if you follow Pennsylvania high school college football recruiting with a close eye. The other prospects are some under-the-radar prospects that had productive 2020 seasons. All of the players on this list both carried the football 45-plus times and averaged over 10 yards per carry during the 2020 season.
Nicholas Singleton Nicholas Singleton 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Governor Mifflin Senior | 2022 State PA Ι 6-0 Ι 210 Ι Governor Mifflin HS
It probably isn’t a surprise that one of the best running backs in the entire nation is on this list. During the 2020 season, Singleton rushed the football 107 times for 1,311 yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground. He averaged 12.3 yards per carry. Alabama is the latest school to offer Singleton. Singleton can run around you and run through you, depending on how he feels on that carry. His start off the ball is fast and that enables him to hit the hole with elite quickness. A lot of his long runs involve him displaying his strength while breaking multiple arm and leg tackles. Singleton is ranked as both Prep Redzone’s No. 2 overall prospect and No. 1 running back from the state of Pennsylvania in his class.
Tristin Harris Tristin Harris 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Fort LeBoeuf | 2022 State PA Ι 6-0 Ι 185 Ι Fort LeBoeuf HS
Harris is certainly under the radar from a recruitment standpoint. However, his production during the 2020 season is worth noting. Harris carried the football 45 times for 834 yards and 15 touchdowns. That’s 18.5 yards per carry. He shared carries with two other players, a senior and a junior. Harris plays in a Wing-T offense, so most of his carries on his highlights come on sweeps. There are not too many plays involving him carrying the football in-between the tackles. He displays better-than-average speed once he gets on the perimeter carrying the football. Harris is ranked as the No. 26 defensive back in the state by Prep Redzone
Tamoj Lyons-Glover Ι 5-9 Ι Meadville HS
Despite splitting carries with another running back, Lyons-Glover gained 768 yards and seven touchdowns on 70 carries. He averaged an impressive 11.0 yards per carry. Amazingly, there’s no current highlights available for Lyons-Glover.
Landon Alexander Landon Alexander 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Central Valley | 2022 State PA Ι 6-0 Ι 180 Ι Central Valley HS
Landon Alexander Landon Alexander 6'0" | 180 lbs | RB Central Valley | 2022 State PA is a name that you should hear more of in the upcoming months once colleges inspect him. During the 2020 season, Alexander carried the football 132 times for 1,445 yards and 17 touchdowns. That’s a lot of production. He averaged 10.9 yards per carry. While he isn’t a speedster, he gets the job done. He’s more of a strider. He also has excellent vision that enables him to make second-level defenders miss. Alexander is ranked as the No. 7 running back in the state by Prep Redzone.
Griffin Buzzell Griffin Buzzell 6'1" | 200 lbs | RB Meadville | 2022 State PA Ι 6-1 Ι 180 Ι Meadville HS

Buzzell is the backfield mate of Tamoj Lyons-Glover. He carried the football 56 times for 588 yards (10.0 yards per carry) and seven touchdowns last season. He’s a tall back who can break off those 10-20 yard runs with regularity. He’s not the fastest, but he runs with aggression and his physical. Buzzell is ranked as the No. 33 running back in the state by Prep Redzone.
