I really felt like Barnes turned a corner this year with a handful of things. He’s always had a good frame, but it was cleaning up small things. His footwork, hand placement, and overall strength have improved drastically. He’s reliable and shows up game in and game out. He doesn’t seek attention and just shows up to compete, which you have to appreciate.

Barnes is a raw, yet very talented lineman who can play on either side of the ball and is a 3-sport athlete for Yorktown. Standing at 6’4″ and 225lbs and also playing basketball and baseball at the Varsity levels only typically point to raw athletic ability and good hand-eye coordination. I also like how Barnes doesn’t seem to ride the waves of emotion. He’s a steady player on and off the field with how he operates.
