In addition to great defensive explosiveness, what impresses me about Matthews is his ability to read the short pass and be in prime position to pick off the quarterback. Another aspect of Matthews that stands out is his stopping power, exerting his strength on tackles to force the occasional loose ball. I also like how Matthews can quickly surprise and sack the gunslinger.
