Who are some under the radar small-town running backs in the 2026 class?

Prep Redzone breaks it down...

Corrion Daniels - Perry

A speedy back with breakaway speed, Daniels is the No. 2 running back at Perry behind standout junior [player_tooltip player_id='1080813' first='Ahmad' last='Gordon'], but he's been an excellent second option for the Panthers who have run through defenses all season long. As a sophomore, Daniels was one of Middle Georgia's most productive backs in his class, rushing for 742 yards and nine touchdowns. The Perry rushing attack has led the way this season offensively, and now they've fought their way all the way to the 4A state championship game. Daniels may have only rushed for 62 yards a game, but for a sophomore reserve, those are solid numbers. He also rushed for an impressive 7 yards a carry this year due to his natural vision, burst, and the ability to out-run defenders down the field. He's a big-play weapon, and he has a chance to have a giant junior season in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1323207' first='Jakobe' last='Caslin'] - Carver

A versatile, slippery back with fantastic burst and explosion, Caslin may not be the biggest running back in the area, but he's a dynamic runner who plays bigger than his 5-foot-9 160-pound frame. He can play in the slot or out of the backfield. No matter where he's lined up, he has the potential to make big play. He's hard to contain and can really take off down the field when given some space. As a sophomore last year, Caslin show big play ability and productivity in a backup role, rushing for 867 yards and six touchdowns. He wasn't the lead back, but when he was in the game, he was ready to make an impact. He was also an outstanding option in the passing game, catching 19 passes for 224 yards and one more touchdown. He can really run and does a great job of making defenders look silly. He's a back to know who will only see his stock rise between now and next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1825728' first='Kamauri' last='Johnson'] - Seminole County

A powerful runner with above-average athleticism for his size at 6-foot-0 190-pounds, Johnson is a tackle-breaking, chain-moving back who does a great job of running behind his pads and picking up yards after contact. He can wear and tear on a defense, and is coming off a big sophomore season where he rushed for 779 yards and seven touchdowns. He's one of the more underrated running backs in South Georgia and showed why he could have a breakout junior season next fall. He ended the season with a bang rushing for 189 yards and one touchdown then 193 and another touchdown in the final two games of the season. If he can continue to progress and carry the load next season, some college interest could certainly come his way down the road.
