Shelby vs Reidsville Western Regional Final - Defensive Standouts

I was on the sideline for the game between two schools with storied football programs. The Western Regional Final had high anticipation leading up to the start of the game. Reidsville offensive unit moved the ball down the field on its first possession to score and dominated Shelby throughout the game. Reidsville's total dominance of Shelby resulted in a 49 - 14 victory. The players listed in this review caught my attention throughout the game. Kendre displayed good technique and good use of hands to control blockers while moving past them for stops. He displayed quickness out of his stance to make contact with blockers while moving past them for stops. He finished the game with 6 total tackles and 3 tackles for losses. Kendre had dominant performances on both sides of the ball at Defensive End and at Tight End. Aidan displayed good lateral movement and speed to cover ground quickly while closing in on the ball carrier. He displayed good reaction to track the ball carrier and make stops. He finished the game with 7 total tackles.   Juhkeir Pinnix - DB, 5'10" 155. He displayed good speed and changed directions quickly while covering receivers. He displayed good technique and use of arms while defending receivers. He finished the game with 8 total tackles.   Shelby HS   Jah'Keevi Garnett - LB, 6'3" 205. Jah'Keevi displayed good lateral movement and speed to cover ground quickly while closing in on the ball carrier. He displayed patience to let the play develop before reacting quickly to make stops.
