The Senior Standouts of 16-6A: Top Performing Skill Players

Throughout the season we have had some thrilling games and performances come from players and teams from this district. Although the journey concludes for those teams that reached the playoffs, we cannot ignore what they brought to the field week in, week out. The senior class was loaded with talent, and here we will spotlight some of the top senior skill players who left it all out on the field.       Harrison Mass | QB | Cy Springs   In his senior season, Mass demonstrated an exceptional ability to dominate games and assume the leadership required for a team's success. The Panthers had a remarkable year, going undefeated in their first seven contests and clinching a playoff spot. Mass played a pivotal role in this achievement, showcasing his on-field skills and elevating his teammates. His pocket escape prowess, athleticism, and impressive deep ball talent were instrumental in propelling the Panthers to crucial victories, making them contenders in the district. With Mass's dynamic and outstanding qualities, Army is gaining a phenomenal player with immense potential for future success.        Kye Callicoatee | QB | Cy Falls   Callicoatee's dynamic ability in the pocket posed a significant threat for the Eagles' offense. His skill set allowed him to create opportunities seemingly out of thin air, utilizing both his arms and legs to inflict damage. Callicoatee displayed confidence in his throws, delivering precise passes with a strong deep ball and impressive zip. He exhibited quick decision-making, opting to take off when the throw wasn't available. Instrumental in guiding the Eagles to an 8-win season and securing second place in a tightly contested district race with just one district loss, Callicoatee is a standout player with plenty more potential to showcase on the field.        Trey Morris III | RB | Cy Falls   One of the players not only in the area, but in the state at the position, Morris was a force once again for his senior year. The three-year starter was a workhorse who did not disappoint with the ball in his hands. Morris was a major part of the Eagles offense, his burst, strength, and ability to break a momentum shifting run off will be hard to replicate. Morris finishes his senior season with 1,324 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. He is a back who has a very bright future ahead of him.        Noah Allen-Cuellar | RB | Bridgeland   Allen-Cuellar went out went a bang to finish off the season running for 172 yards and 3 touchdowns in the playoff game. He is a back who grinds out yards on hard running. He shows good vision and finishes off run very well, always falling forward. Allen-Cuellar has a physical nature to his game and he seems to find more energy as the game goes on. He finishes his senior year with 600 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.        Timothy Saunders | RB | Cy Springs   Saunders emerged as a formidable force in the backfield, showcasing his bruising running style throughout the season. He consistently powered through tackles and made the most of his opportunities whenever his number was called. Saunders posted impressive numbers, establishing himself as a workhorse capable of wearing down a defense with his physicality. His contributions were pivotal to the team's success this season, highlighting his significant role in their accomplishments.        Kendall Burns | RB | Bridgeland   Burns proved to be a versatile and do-it-all back for the Bears this season. Concluding his senior year with over 800 all-purpose yards, he was a dynamic player every time he stepped onto the field. Burns showcased not only agility but also strength as a runner, with the ability of finding even the smallest creases to gain positive yards in challenging situations. He is the type of player who can instantly provide the spark a team needs and is versatile enough to excel at multiple positions on the field. Notably, he capped off the year with a remarkable 240-yard, 2-touchdown performance. Nnanna is undeniably a special talent, capable of bringing a spark to any program.        Mason Simmons | WR | Bridgeland   In his senior season, Simmons demonstrated his worth as a reliable target for his quarterback. Displaying both finesse and physicality, he flexed his muscles against defenders, overpowering opponents on jump balls. Simmons became the go-to player on crucial third downs, serving as the sure-handed weapon to extend drives. By season's end, he amassed over 800 yards and scored 11 touchdowns, showcasing his ability to consistently get the job done, regardless of the challenge.        Carson Littlefield | WR | Cy Ranch   Littlefield's work out of the slot during his Mustang career was truly remarkable. His awareness allowed him to identify the soft spots in the secondary, making him a reliable safety valve for his quarterback. Littlefield possessed the intuition to know when to sit and how to position himself as an open target when required. With hands as reliable as they come, he consistently posed a significant threat to score whenever the defense let its guard down.        Tracy James | WR | Cy Ranch   James' exceptional ability to run after the catch elevated him to one of the most dangerous players on the field. His skill and elusiveness in open space resulted in explosive plays that kept defenses on their toes. With a quick release and a notable shiftiness, James left defenders scrambling to find their footing. His standout senior year, marked by being one of the top targets, highlighted his capacity to be a game-changer whenever his number was called.        Jordan Washington | TE | Langham Creek   Washington's progression has been evident throughout his playing career, and his senior season was a testament to his commitment to improvement. Notably, he dedicated time to enhance his blocking skills in the offseason, and the results were evident on the field. His physicality stood out, yet he seamlessly maintained finesse in his routes. Washington's long frame and expansive catch radius make him exceptionally dangerous when running down the seam. A formidable threat in the red zone, he is a versatile player capable of creating mismatches wherever he lines up.        Connor King | ATH | Cypress Park   King's senior season was a showcase of his dynamic skills, tallying over 1,000 all-purpose yards and contributing six touchdowns. Renowned for his speed, King proved to be a true athlete on the field, displaying versatility in every aspect of the game. He excelled with over 500 yards receiving, 400+ yards rushing, and emerged as one of the top return specialists for his team.
