#1 (Last Week #1) Louisville (11-0)
Week 1 of the playoffs posed no threat or test of the Wildcats as they manhandled an Itawamba AHS team that took a step back from last year.
Last week: beat Itawamba AHS 31-7
This week: vs. New Albany
#2 (#2) Ocean Springs (9-1)
The Greyhounds already had Region 4-7A locked up going into last week but they charged forward shutting out St. Martin 41-0. A sneaky tough Round 1 playoff matchup against Meridian this week.
Last week: Beat St. Martin 41-0
This week: vs. Meridian
#3 (#3) Oak Grove (9-1)
With the Region 3-7A #2 seed already secured, the Warriors exploded on offense in a rivalry victory last week. This team is clicking on all cylinders.
Last week: Beat Petal 48-21
This week: vs. Biloxi
#4 (#4) Tupelo (8-2)
By far the most impressive result in 7A last week was the Golden Wave just absolutely hammering Starkville on the blue turf. Can the Wave ride that into the playoffs? Jeremiah Harrell Jeremiah Harrell 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Tupelo | 2024 State MS is vastly under-rated.
Last week: Beat Starkville 36-6
This week: vs. Desoto Central
#5 (#5) Brandon (8-2)
In a bit of a “get right” week after a poor showing against Meridian two weeks ago, the Dogs handled Northwest Rankin.
Last week: Beat Northwest Rankin 27-10
This week: vs. Harrison Central
#6 (#6) West Jones (10-0)
We all know it at this point, but the West Jones defense is just flat out nasty. In a “winner wins the division” matchup last week the Mustangs handled Hattiesburg with ease.
Last week: Beat Hattiesburg 37-7
This week: vs. Hancock
#7 (#7) Picayune (8-2)
As we mentioned last week, it sure feels like the Maroon Tide is peaking at the right time again.
Last week: Beat Hancock 49-21
This week: vs. Forest Hill
#8 (#9) Warren Central (8-2)
Region 1-6A winners, the Vikings are in the drivers seat in 6A North.
Last week: Beat Columbus 41-6
This week: vs. Saltillo
#9 (#10) Holmes County Central (11-0)
Holmes County completed the undefeated regular season with a win against Canton last week. Now that the playoffs are here we will learn a lot more pretty quickly.
Last week: Beat Canton 39-14
This week: vs. Corinth
#10 (NR) South Panola (9-1)
The Tigers have been on the outside looking in with the rankings for the majority of the season, but right on time, with the playoffs beginning, they are peaking.
Last week: Beat Grenada 28-7
This week: vs. Callaway
