Under The Radar 2025 Defensive Linemen

A naturally gifted EDGE defender and an outstanding pass-rusher, Houston leads the 2025 class in Georgia in sacks so far this season, getting to the quarterback 15.5 times. He's also made 34 tackles and 10 TFLs. He's big, strong, and moves really well side to side. He can stop the run on the edge, but as his numbers indicate, he's a terrific pass-rusher who can make plays in a lot of different ways. He has a solis 6-foot-2 210-pound frame and with room to continue growing and adding good weight. He's still raw, but his natural size and athleticism has been truly eye-opening this season. Look for him to be one of the state's leaders in sacks by the end of the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1080797' first='Julius' last='Columbus']</strong> <strong>- Gainesville</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A powerful interior defensive lineman who can wreck any particular play, Columbus has been a tough, reliable defender all season long in the middle of Gainesville's defensive line. Whether he's stuffing running lanes or attacking the quarterback, this impressive junior is going to make a big impact. He plays with power, outstanding leverage, and has shown an impressive motor as well. He can fight through double-teams and has been a dependable pass-rusher from the inside. He's not the tallest guy at just 6-foot-2 and 270-pounds, but he still brings a lot of strength and is very quick off the snap. The Red Elephant defender has made 24 tackles, 22 TFLs, and 10 sacks so far this season. Tremendous numbers for an interior defensive linemen. He makes plays in the backfield and brings great effort every Friday night. A true sleeper defensive line prospect in the 2025 class that should earn some potential D1 interest soon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kobe Mcinnis - Wheeler</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A breakout defensive lineman to know in Cobb County, Mcinnis is a long and powerful 6-foot-3 210-pound EDGE defender who is just scratching the surface of his potential. A two-way player and a solid overall athlete, the Wheeler standout is having an excellent junior season and has flashed D1-potential off the edge this season. He's quick off the ball and shows great pursuit of the quarterback. He can shed blocks and plays with fire and intensity. His length and motor has allowed him to make a lot of plays in the backfield, and he's someone who could see his recruitment pick up at the end of the season. So far, Mcinnis has made 32 total tackles and an eye-opening 14 TFLs. He's also sacked the QB eight times this season. A true force off the edge, he's only going to get better if he adds more weight and muscle over the next year or so. He's having a great season and should only get better and better this fall and as a senior next year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
