Week 8: Friday Night Scoreboard
Friday Night Lights for Week 8 of the New Mexico high school football season featured some of the best action of the year! High stakes battles were fought throughout the state.
-- Eldorado blocked Carlsbad's potential game-winning field goal attempt in the final seconds, completing a rally from a three-touchdown deficit in the second quarter to edge the Cavemen, 22-21, at Wilson Stadium.
-- Hope Christian traveled to Moriarty and beat the ground and pound Pintos in our Game of the Week.
-- Sandia scorched Rio Rancho at Rams Stadium to keep their hopes of a Top 4 seed alive. Sandia concludes the regular season against La Cueva in a game that could determine who receives a top four seed.
-- Volcano Vista traveled to Watson Stadium and walloped Hobbs to stay unbeaten in District 6A-2.
-- St. Michael's won its 40th straight game and posted its SIXTH straight shutout on the road at West Las Vegas.
-- Portales followed up its impressive road win at Belen last week with a mercy-rule win over Albuquerque Academy at ENMU Greyhound Stadium.
