<p>Things mean a little more this time of season. First off, everyone wants to win a region championship. But maybe more importantly, teams have an eye towards November and playoff seeding. </p>

<p>That brings us to this weekly segment. Key individual performances drive this time of season and we had plenty of them across the Upper State on Friday. Let's take a look at some of the outstanding performances from Week 7. </p>

<p>The Rebels rushed for 268 yards as a team in a 49-21 victory over Hillcrest. Segarra led the way with 151 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns while Fuller chipped in 87 yards rushing and two scores. Both players average over seven yards per carry as Byrnes improved to 4-2 on the season.</p>

<p>The Patriots earned their first win of the season, a 45-14 victory at Eastside. Griffin topped the 100-yard mark with 177 yards and two rushing scores on 20 carries. The senior added two receptions for 59 yards that included a 55-yard scoring play from Mellard. The sophomore JL Mann QB went 8-of-12 for 211 yards and three touchdowns to three different receivers.</p>

<p>The Shrine Bowl QB continued his stellar play in a 58-3 rout of previously unbeaten Boiling Springs. The senior was 10-for-12 for 290 yards and three touchdowns through the air while he added another touchdown rushing to go along with 64 yards on the ground. The three touchdowns went to [player_tooltip player_id='1718680' first='Payton' last='Vining'](3 receptions, 141 yards and one touchdown) and [player_tooltip player_id='513067' first='Malik' last='Ratliff'] (3 catches for 52 yards and two touchdowns). Since the opening season loss, the Trojans are averaging 60 points per game in five game winning streak.</p>

<p>Huffstetler led the defensive attack with 11 total tackles and one tackle for loss in the Gators 34-24 comeback victory over Chapin. Flynn (pictured above) kicked two field goals (33 and 22 yards) and had five touchbacks on his eight kickoffs. He also averaged 44.3 yards on three punts with one landing inside the Eagles 20. And Carter had another big night with 271 total yards. The Coastal Carolina commit returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score, added four receptions for 133 yards and a 71-yard TD reception from [player_tooltip player_id='1600293' first='Davis' last='Taylor']. Carter had 127 kickoff yards and 11 punt return yards.</p>

<p>The Silver Foxes struggled by their standards on offense in a 28-7 victory over Lexington, but the defense was at its best. Smith led the way with seven tackles and an interception. But Dupree filled up the stat sheet as well. Dupree totaled four tackles, two tackles for loss and two interceptions as well as one pass breakup. Dutch Fork limited the Wildcats to 132 yards of total offense. As a defense, the Silver Foxes are allowing 12.3 points per game. </p>

<p>The Eagles improved to 3-3 with a 42-14 victory over Easley. Hamilton was the leading rusher with 96 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries. White added two touchdown runs and 63 yards on nine attempts. He also threw for 89 yards. [player_tooltip player_id='1825223' first='Shamar' last='Sayles'] added to the rushing totals with two touchdowns and 39 yards on just six carries.</p>

<p>The Indians spread the wealth around in a 54-7 victory over Wade Hampton. Seven different players scored rushing touchdowns as Gaffney rushed for 383 yards as a team. White led the way with 109 yards and a touchdown on eight carries while Cochran, a sophomore, added 103 yards and a score on eight carries. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1604058' first='Kareem' last='Shaw'] scored twice and added 73 yards rushing on just five carries.</p>

<p>Farrow went 22-of-31 for 380 yards and seven touchdowns, including two to [player_tooltip player_id='1817658' first='Bryson' last='Mosley'] who had 133 receiving yards in the Red Raiders 61-28 win over Greer. It was by far the highest scoring output by Greenville this season. In fact, Farrow only had four touchdown passes on the season and he almost doubled that production in one night.</p>

<p>The Warriors defeated Travelers Rest 41-21 behind a big evening from the passing attack. Adams was the trigger man and completed 11-of-16 passes for 268 yards. Stevenson and Terry both went over 100 yards receiving on the night. Stevenson hauled in nine passes for 194 yards and a touchdown. Terry added four receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns as Riverside won its second in a row after opening the season with four straight losses.</p>

Frederick filled in for injured starter Braydon Waldon and accounted for himself well. He threw three touchdown passes, a 33-yarder to <strong>JD Carter</strong>, a 14-yard pass to Amari Dogan and then connected with<strong> Elijah Barber</strong> on a 58-yard TD strike.</p>

Copperheads quarterback Will Gambrill threw for 354 yards, and Calvin Rocheleau recorded 115 yards on three catches as. It was the highest scoring output of the season for Catawba Ridge.</p>

<p>The Vikings improved to 6-1 with a 41-3 victory at Palmetto with a stout defensive effort. Emerald had 17 tackles for loss and nine sacks in the win. Lyles led the way with three sacks, five tackles for loss and seven total tackles. Cloud aided in that performance with nine tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks. Mobley also recorded nine tackles with three tackles for loss. </p>

<p>Moore helped the Panthers continue their winning ways, this time in a 50-7 win over Blue Ridge. Moore finished 17-of-26 for 254 yards and five touchdowns. Four of those TD passes went to Tucker, who finished with four receptions for 97 yards. Moore has thrown for over 1,600 yards on the season to go along with 20 touchdowns and just one interception. Tucker has nine of those TD receptions.</p>

<p>The Tigers won their third in a row with a 56-12 victory over Carolina Academy so there are plenty of kudos to go around. Evans finished 10-of-17 for 144 yards and three touchdowns while adding 41 yards on five carries. Deveaux hauled in four passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Devlin (100 yards) and Brown (113 yards) each topped the 100-yard mark. Devlin scored three touchdowns while Brown added on scoring run.</p>

<p>The Red Devils rushed for 512 yards as a team and all three backs went for over 100 yards in a 49-14 victory at West-Oak. Austin led the attack with 214 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. But Spence had a pretty decent night as well with 176 yards and two rushing touchdowns and added 35 yards passing and two scores as well. Owens added 101 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries, and he caught one of Spence's TD pass from 21 yards out.</p>

<p>It was an offensive explosion on both sides as the Stars knocked off Chesnee 45-42. Booker had two big touchdowns in the second half. The first was a 10-yard touchdown reception and the last one came on a 31-yard reception late in the contest. His quarterback Jacoby Millerwent 10-of-14 for 129 yards passing to go along with 22 yards rushing. It's the second straight win for MVP after opening the season with three straight losses.</p>

[player_tooltip player_id='1633095' first='Curtis' last='Bell'] added 93 yards receiving on two catches, including a 77-yard TD catch.</p>

<p>The Raiders opened up region play with a 42-19 victory over Andrew Jackson. Howse threw for 275 yards and four touchdowns and added a rushing score as well. Wilson caught six passes for 101 yards and two scores. [player_tooltip player_id='1816285' first='Jaden' last='Moody'] and Marcus Simpson Jr also caught scoring passes from Howse. That gives Howse 14 touchdown passes on the season with Simpson being responsible for six of those.</p>

<p>It was an all-round dominating performance by the Wildcats in a 63-0 dismantling of Ware Shoals. Evans had his first career 300-yard passing game as the junior finished 17-of-22 for 315 yards and five passing touchdowns. He also added 19 yards rushing and another score. That takes us to Mathis, his favorite target on the evening. The freshman hauled in six receptions for 167 yards and a touchdown. He also added a 16-yard TD run.</p>

<p><strong>BJ Suits</strong> QB, Northside Christian</p>

<p>Suits continued his fine play with three rushing touchdowns in a 27-6 victory over Westminster. Suits rushed the ball 22 times for 178 yards and touchdown runs of 5, 16 and 24 yards to help NCA remain undefeated on the season.</p>

<p>Jayden Peeples RB, Blackville-Hilda</p>

<p>Peeples scored the game-winner in overtime to give the Hawks a thrilling 34-28 victory over previously undefeated Wagener-Salley. Peeples ended up being the workhorse for the offense, accounting for 181 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 29 carries. He also added an 18-yard receiving TD to his stat pack for the evening. The senior is one of the state's top rushers with over 1,300 yards and 19 rushing touchdowns on the season. </p>

<p>All Dow did in the Blue Flame 63-0 victory over Berea was go 12-of-17 for 248 yards passing and five touchdowns. He added another 43 yards rushing and a score as well. That puts the senior right at 900 yards and 12 touchdown passes. He's also rushed for over 700 yards and has 14 rushing TDs on the season. </p>
