It's region play time.

Things mean a little more this time of season. First off, everyone wants to win a region championship. But maybe more importantly, teams have an eye towards November and playoff seeding.

That brings us to this weekly segment. Key individual performances drive this time of season and we had plenty of them across the Upper State on Friday. Let's take a look at some of the outstanding performances from Week 7.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036721' first='Tre' last='Segarra'] RB and [player_tooltip player_id='1604062' first='Jacobi' last='Fuller'] RB, Byrnes

The Rebels rushed for 268 yards as a team in a 49-21 victory over Hillcrest. Segarra led the way with 151 yards on 19 carries and three touchdowns while Fuller chipped in 87 yards rushing and two scores. Both players average over seven yards per carry as Byrnes improved to 4-2 on the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1816432' first='Buddy' last='Griffin'] RB and [player_tooltip player_id='1816424' first='Wilkes' last='Mellard'] QB, JL Mann

The Patriots earned their first win of the season, a 45-14 victory at Eastside. Griffin topped the 100-yard mark with 177 yards and two rushing scores on 20 carries. The senior added two receptions for 59 yards that included a 55-yard scoring play from Mellard. The sophomore JL Mann QB went 8-of-12 for 211 yards and three touchdowns to three different receivers.

[player_tooltip player_id='232624' first='Xavier' last='Means'] QB, Northwestern

The Shrine Bowl QB continued his stellar play in a 58-3 rout of previously unbeaten Boiling Springs. The senior was 10-for-12 for 290 yards and three touchdowns through the air while he added another touchdown rushing to go along with 64 yards on the ground. The three touchdowns went to [player_tooltip player_id='1718680' first='Payton' last='Vining'](3 receptions, 141 yards and one touchdown) and [player_tooltip player_id='513067' first='Malik' last='Ratliff'] (3 catches for 52 yards and two touchdowns).
