Vote: Who is the Oregon Week 5 Player of the Week?

The Oregon high school football season has reached the halfway point - a stunning fact given that feels as though it just began.

The pecking order at the top of the 6A standings has begun to take shape, as Lake Oswego, Nelson and West Linn appear to hold an edge over Tualatin, Sheldon, Grants Pass, Lakeridge and others battling in the top-10.

Last week proved to be a big separator week in the state of Oregon.

In a battle of 3 vs. 4, West Linn cruised to a 42-14 victory over Tualatin, led by a Lions defense that forced five turnovers and Sloan Bakers double combo mean (2 passing touchdowns, 2 rushing touchdowns).

This season, the Metro League appears to be a wipe open race between Jesuit, Westview and Mountainside - with the latter two facing each other last week.

A young Lakeridge squad took on Tigard and breezed to a 40-19 statement victory.

While the group is young, they are loaded with talent - some of which is delivering ahead of schedule.

Nearly all of those games delivered some major Player of the Week nominees.
