Recruiting continues to heat up across Mississippi, with [player_tooltip player_id='1240130' first='Kullan' last='Hitson'], [player_tooltip player_id='2445527' first='Demond' last='Johnson'], [player_tooltip player_id='2060820' first='Jakylynn' last='Moody'], [player_tooltip player_id='2445525' first='Jeremiah' last='Mark'], [player_tooltip player_id='2445523' first='Jaylen' last='Hall'], [player_tooltip player_id='2445518' first='Colin' last='Pruitt'] and Taveres Mitchell all making moves this past week. Some landed their first college offers, while others added major programs to their recruiting résumés. And with playoff football approaching, there's still plenty of time for more prospects to get noticed.

A prospect I like seeing get an opportunity is Hitson, who picked up his first college offer from Millsaps. For a senior, that's a big moment, especially with his final season winding down. What stands out to me is the timing of the offer. Hitson now has a college program showing interest, and that's a positive way to finish his high school career.

Another player getting his foot in the door is Johnson, who landed his first offer from Mississippi Delta. I like this opportunity for the senior because the JUCO route can give him more time to develop and gain exposure. Plus, he's now got a chance to continue competing at the next level while working toward bigger opportunities.

A young stud already making serious recruiting noise is Moody, who picked up an offer from Mississippi State. The 2029 prospect also holds offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Miami, Tennessee and Texas A&M. I like how quickly his recruitment is taking off, especially with both in-state SEC programs now involved. He's definitely a name Mississippi recruiting fans should get familiar with.

A prospect who's already getting plenty of Power Four attention is Mark, who added an offer from Texas A&M. I like the level of programs involved in his recruitment, and adding another SEC opportunity makes his offer list even stronger. Meanwhile, continuing to show consistency on Friday nights will be important as those programs evaluate his long-term potential.

One player who caught my attention is Hall, who picked up an offer from Utah State. The West Point prospect also holds an offer from Jackson State, but adding an FBS opportunity is a big step. I like that his recruitment is expanding beyond Mississippi, giving him another level of college football to consider.

Another name getting some attention is Pruitt, who landed an offer from Stephen F. Austin. That's an FCS opportunity and a nice addition to his recruitment. I like seeing programs at that level get involved with Mississippi prospects, and Pruitt now has another college option to consider as he continues through the recruiting process.

A young stud who's been putting up numbers is Mitchell, who picked up his first college offer from East Central CC. The Richland junior has rushed for a reported 856 yards and 11 touchdowns on 78 carries. I like that production, especially nearly 11 yards per carry. Plus, with another season ahead of him, Mitchell has plenty of time to build on this opportunity.

One thing I like about this week's group is the mix of players getting opportunities. You've got seniors earning their first offers, younger prospects drawing SEC attention and a productive junior running back getting his foot in the door. That's what makes Mississippi recruiting interesting — there's always another name ready to make some noise.
