Every season, there are players who take their game to another level and put themselves on the radar with their early-season performances. These are players who are making plays on Friday nights and giving us plenty of reasons to keep watching as the season unfolds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2139042' first='Dayveon' last='Cochren'] | Midwest City | WR | Class of 2028

Midwest City wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2139042' first='Dayveon' last='Cochren'] is a 2028 prospect who wasn't on our radar coming into the season, but after seeing some clips of him on social media, that has definitely changed. He is a explosive athlete who looks to have a high ceiling and is quickly becoming someone to keep an eye on in this class. As a wide receiver, Cochren is a legitimate deep threat who can stretch the field and make big plays down the field. He also has the ability to take a simple bubble screen and turn it into a touchdown with his explosiveness and ability to create in space. He shows a good catch radius, strong eye-hand coordination, and isn't afraid to go down and make a difficult catch. His body control allows him to adjust to the football and finish plays. Cochren also makes an impact on special teams, giving his team another way to get the ball in his hands and allowing him to create scoring opportunities. With his explosiveness, ball skills, and ability to impact the game in multiple phases, Cochren is a 2028 prospect who has quickly moved onto our radar and could be a player with a very high ceiling.

[player_tooltip player_id='1515723' first='Jaymian' last='Compton'] | Owasso | WR | Class of 2027

After transferring in from Booker T. Washington, [player_tooltip player_id='1515723' first='Jaymian' last='Compton'], has quickly become one of the top playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. With the football in his hands, he is electric and has the ability to make something happen every time he touches it. His combination of athleticism, body control, and ball skills makes him a difficult matchup for opposing defenses. He does a great job catching the football with his hands and doesn't allow the ball to get into his body. He will go up and attack the football, showing the confidence and ability to make plays in traffic. As a route runner, he understands how to create separation and does a nice job utilizing double moves to get behind defenders. He also contributes on special teams as a returner, giving his team another way to put the ball in his hands and create explosive plays. Since arriving at his new school, he has quickly established himself as an offensive weapon and a player to keep an eye on as the season continues his Senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2253649' first='Jordan' last='Denson'] | Chandler | WR | Class of 2027

Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2253649' first='Jordan' last='Denson'] from Chandler is a really talented athlete overall, he has been a basketball-first guy for a while but decided to come out for football this season, and he has already put together some impressive performances early in the year. It didn't take long to see that his athletic ability translates to the football field. He does a great job controlling his body and has the ability to go up and attack the football at its highest point. He doesn't go down easily once the ball is in his hands and has the speed to create problems for defenders in space. Put him one-on-one with a corner, and he becomes a difficult matchup because of his combination of size, athleticism, body control, and speed. As he continues to gain experience on the football field, his ceiling could be very high. This is an athlete we will continue to keep an eye out for with so much success early on in the season in his first year playing high school ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1833650' first='Jordyn' last='Lewis'] | Idabel | WR | Class of 2027

In the class of 2027, [player_tooltip player_id='1833650' first='Jordyn' last='Lewis'] out of Idabel, seems like he has been a top performer every other week to start the season, continuing to put up big numbers despite Idabel facing a tough early schedule. His ability to impact the game with his athleticism and ball skills has really stood out, and he has shown that he can make plays on both sides of the football. He catches the ball extremely well and does a great job tracking the football all the way into his hands. He moves well in space and has a good understanding of spacing, allowing him to find openings in the defense and create separation. I really like his overall athletic ability and the way he gets in and out of his breaks. He is a legitimate deep threat who can stretch the defense vertically, but he can also be effective in the screen game and make plays once the ball is in his hands. With his combination of ball skills, movement, and versatility, he continues to be a player worth keeping an eye on as the season moves forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1831889' first='Montre' last='McGlugritch'] | Newcastle | WR | Class of 2027

Newcastle wide receiver, in the class of 2027, [player_tooltip player_id='1831889' first='Montre' last='McGlugritch'] first got on our radar after watching Newcastle in the spring, and he has backed up that preseason hype this fall. The tall, rangy receiver has developed into a legitimate downfield weapon and has continued to show why he was a player we wanted to keep an eye on entering the season. McGlugritch has a good frame, strong hands, and does a nice job tracking the football down the field. He has shown the ability to stretch the defense vertically while giving his quarterback a reliable target downfield. McGlugritch understands how to get open and does a good job finding open windows for his quarterback. I really like his ability to run double moves and create separation, making him a difficult matchup for opposing defensive backs. He also put together a strong performance against Carl Albert, showing that he can make plays against quality competition. As the season moves into the second half, McGlugritch is a player we will continue to keep an eye on as he develops into an even bigger weapon for the Newcastle offense.
